The power of laboratory medicine in fighting infections. By identifying microscopic germs and testing their susceptibility to antibiotics, doctors can tailor treatment plans for maximum effectiveness. This precision ensures that antibiotics target the suitable pathogens, optimizing outcomes and minimizing risks of antibiotic resistance. Trust in laboratory medicine to provide crucial insights, guide healthcare professionals towards the most effective treatments, and ultimately safeguard patient health. #LabMedicine #PrecisionTreatment #nammadhee #multispecialityhospital #Dheehospital

Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is a growing public health crisis – and it's not going away. When bacteria and other microbes become resistant to antibiotics, even simple infections can become deadly. We need to take action now! Here are some key points to remember about AMR: 1. The threat is real: Overuse and misuse of antibiotics is fueling the rise of AMR. 2. We're running out of options: Existing antibiotics are becoming less effective, and new ones are slow to be developed. 3. The consequences are dire: AMR could lead to millions of deaths and cripple healthcare systems globally. What can we do? 1. Healthcare professionals: Prescribe antibiotics responsibly and only when truly necessary. 2. Individuals: Don't pressure doctors for antibiotics, and only take them as prescribed by your doctor. 3. Researchers: Develop new antibiotics and explore alternative treatment strategies. 4. Policymakers: Implement regulations to promote responsible antibiotic use. Together, we can combat AMR and ensure a future where antibiotics remain effective. #AMR #AntimicrobialResistance #PublicHealth #Healthcare

Despite the growing global threat of drug-resistant infections, there is limited understanding among the general population and healthcare practitioners about the responsible use of antibiotics. Overuse and misuse of antibiotics are common, leading to the development of antibiotic-resistant strains of bacteria. The absence of comprehensive public health campaigns and educational initiatives perpetuates this issue, putting the effectiveness of vital antimicrobials at risk. Over the last two years, I have been involved in the policy decision to incorporate AMR issues into the secondary educational curriculum, an initiative highlighted by the Fleming Fund. https://lnkd.in/gh5SWNXH #AMR #publichealth #flemingfund

A new study published in the journal 𝘦𝘊𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘭𝘔𝘦𝘥𝘪𝘤𝘪𝘯𝘦 demonstrates that patients with severe COVID-19 may experience losing up to 10 IQ points. In the most part, cognitive impairments are still detectable many months after the acute phase of SARS-CoV2 infections. https://lnkd.in/dfbxgm5R #covid19 #coronavirus #lifescience #medicine #biomedicalresearch
