CAN YOU VALIDATE YOUR HANDPIECES? Check your steri area and see what type of indicators you are using. You might see they have their class number written on them. Class 4, 5, 6 etc. You will also be “told” to use class 5 or 6. This is FALSE! Only with a class 2 indicator inside a PCD will you then be able to validate your handpieces. This is very important to note as it could be all that stands between a major patient infection and a safe handpiece used on a patient. Don’t take the risk. It just isn’t worth it! 🫧 👐 How often do you wash your hands and for how long? 👐 🫧 Frequent hand washing is not only recommended, but can prevent many diseases and increase attendance at schools. Use gentle, moisturizing hand soaps and provide hand sanitizers with added moisturizers. Encourage students to wash hands frequently and recite the ABC’s to help pass the recommended ⏱️ time of 20 seconds per hand wash. Per the CDC "Handwashing with soap could protect about 1 out of every 3 young children who get sick with diarrhea, and almost 1 out of 5 young children with respiratory infections like pneumonia." #safewaysupply #acbhandwashing #handwashing #preventdiseases #kutolsoapdispenser #schoolshealth
