It was great to be a part of the 14th annual Canada UK Energy Summit with The Energy Roundtable in London this week, and share more about GE Vernova's work to electrify and decarbonize the world. Both the UK and Canada sit within our Growth Markets and we see huge opportunity for collaboration and learning ahead. I noted in my conversation with Emma Pinchbeck of Energy UK and Peter Tertzakian that it all starts with certainty: with more certainty on projects we can build out the supply chain and build up talent. Emma and I agree that to decarbonize the energy industry we are going to need a ton of talent - in change management, the grid, AI experts and much more: people from other industries who can reapply their skills in a new way, and vitally, those who can spread the word. Always great to join these conversations. #FutureofEnergy

Understanding the energy transition: Through our research and work on energy projects, we know a critical gap exists between the information available and the public's understanding of it. Effective communication is critical for this transformation, starting with a shared vocabulary that supports a widespread understanding of complex concepts. Our Australian Energy Compendium is designed to demystify some language and concepts. The inaugural edition includes 160+ terms, research analysis and more. Australia is well-positioned to lead the global energy revolution, however, to be successful, we need everyone on the journey. Download the Compendium and let us know your feedback and what we’ve missed for future editions at energycompendium@89degreeseast.com #EnergyTransition #RenewableEnergy #Communications #Research

Amazing session tonight on the future and critical space for the young enthusiastic energy professionals. Informed thoughts and narratives on the energy trends amidst decarbonisation efforts, the existing challenges and the projected future on the net-zero agenda. Has enough been done yet to put in place necessary infrastructure to aid a secure transition? How about collaboration between the public and private sector? public engagement/awareness?...the trandition is important not forgetting the oversll energy security. Hence, the need for comprehensive intergrated energy systems. Energy Institute DNV - Energy Systems The Carbon Trust #SouthwestsouthwalesEIYPN

Dina Bacovsky, Chair of IEA Bioenergy, was one of the delegates at the International Energy Agency (IEA) Energy Innovation Forum. 🗣 “This was an exceptional opportunity to exchange with the broader IEA family, a diverse group of actors, united by the wish to accelerate the clean energy transition. #Bioenergy is one of the technologies needed to keep international climate targets in reach, and we urgently need to more widely deploy mature technologies and support the development of technologies that still need to be demonstrated at scale. Running a demonstration facility allows you to gather data, learn how your technology fits into the system and train your personnel. Failures will be part of the process, but we must understand that failures are not fatalities but opportunities to learn. #IEABioenergy is committed to provide science-based information to support the technology innovation required to transform our energy system.” 🔗 https://lnkd.in/dZVNZYGr

Thomas Edison's foresight echoes through time with an irony in 2024. As oil and coal reserves dwindle, we thank the visionary companies driving the renewable energy revolution. Today, let's not wait for resources to exhaust but applaud those engineering a brighter, sustainable future. To the technical talent of the world, lean into this booming industry, for your innovations to not only power our homes but also contribute to the betterment of humanity. The sun, as Edison predicted, remains a boundless source of power, and our commitment to harnessing it defines our legacy. 💡 For renewable energy resume tips, check out our latest post - https://lnkd.in/gBq_BVkJ ☀️ If you happen to be in the renewable energy space or know someone who is, feel free to visit and send along this link - iteompower.com #RenewableRevolution #ITEOM #PoweredbyPeople #CleanEnergy #TechForGood #RenewableFuture #RenewableEnergy #RenewableLeaders
