"The biggest single issue today in market research and polling is respondent engagement." When a research legend speaks, we all need to listen! Really enjoyed Angus Reid's recent convo with Lenny Murphy on the Greenbook podcast. Some key takeaways: 🧐 To get high-quality data, watch where your sample is coming from. Refrain from sample providers that use routers. If a panel participant is getting invited to 4 surveys a day, how much can you really trust the data? 👂 To improve engagement, ask people about topics they're interested in. Angus said about 20% of their engagements to their panelists are about "social, economic and political stuff" because these are "engaging questions" that people like to answer. Engaging questions keep people engaged! 🤖 AI has massive pros and cons for the #insights industry. "AI is a huge productivity booster. There is no question about it. And if you’re doing chat based surveys, it can make them much more realistic. Fabulous. But AI is also a huge threat because of both synthetic surveys and survey fraud."
