A blood test correctly identified Alzheimer’s disease in older adults with about 90% accuracy. With further study, such tests could help speed the diagnosis of Alzheimer’s in primary care clinics and help more people access treatments. https://bit.ly/3AuyllP #AlzhemiersDisease #BloodTest #treatments #science #research #NIH

Hopefully they'll soon release the specificity and sensitivity of this blood test as surely it looks promising particularly in the primary care or community diagnostic centers. 👏👏

Such a blessing this would be, since this illness is a burden on family.

Very promising step! After this blood test is FDA approved, and covered by insurance, it would dramatically improve accessibility of an AD diagnosis for the general public. I'm interested to see how the proportion of the population with AD changes with such a big step forward in accessible diagnoses.

Breakthrough research!! Once sensitivity and specificity are determined, it can significantly impact clinical practice helping early diagnosis, therapeutic management and patient outcomes.

Sounds great but what if we could eradicate the illness (prevention) to begin with so that pharmaceuticals would not be needed. Meaning eliminating all the toxins/chemicals in our food/water/air supply, etc. Different strategy right? It is possible if there was transparency over the decades of information already available

Is this an exam that can be done without symptoms or at a young age?
