Restaurant job openings rose to 903,000 in August, up from 815,000 in July, indicating resilience in the job market despite a broader slowdown. Net hiring in the sector was strong with 60,000 new jobs, the biggest gain since January 2023. Quits dropped to 497,000, signaling the end of the Great Resignation era.
