Everest was our first big challenge, taking 42 leaders camping. Added details: telling them 24 hours before we left was the big surprise no one expected. We let them know before we arrived we were actually camping and not staying at the Grand Floridian. No one left, they all had the option to leave. Everyone stayed and had 2 days of what many have called the best and most creative conference of their career. It was packed with so many deliverables, bringing great content, out of the classroom and into campgrounds for two days with our 6 executive leaders and 36 sales leaders all converging on Fort wilderness Disney world. Workbooks, Team building, leadership and team work principals, survival training, competition, sleeping in tents under the stars and campfire songs, great stories and even a hayride. Great event. It is still in my top 5 events we ever executed. It was a HUGE success. I've always been interested in how our personal experiences can influence our professional development. Camping is one of my favorite ways to develop my 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝘀𝗸𝗶𝗹𝗹𝘀. It offers an opportunity to step outside of our comfort zone. Whether it's lighting a fire in difficult conditions or working together as a team to set up camp, these experiences foster essential leadership qualities such as: 𝗔𝗱𝗮𝗽𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆: requiring flexibility and the ability to adapt to changing circumstances. 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗯𝗹𝗲𝗺-𝘀𝗼𝗹𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴: camping often requires creative problem-solving skills which are essential in any leadership role. 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: working together to achieve a common goal.
