🩺🪖 The Latvian Ministry of Defence has conducted the final demonstration of its Virtual Reality Trauma Simulator project. The initiative is part of a multinational project led by the EU and Latvian digital simulation developer Exonicus R&D to deliver “unified” advanced trauma care preparation for allied militaries across Europe. “Almost like a computer game, the military medics or the students training to take on this role can virtually go through various scenarios,” Exonicus Project Director Liga Ellere explained. “The system records what procedures they completed in what order, so that later they can evaluate their actions alone or with an instructor and analyse what was done correctly and what improvements are needed.” #military #technology #innovation #militarytechnology #militarytech #defense #defence #defenseindustry #defenceindustry #latvia #militarymedicine #medical #midmed #vr #virtualreality

🤖 TODAY IN TECH: British Navy Launches VR Training for Warship Navigation At three UK military sites, new VR simulators are creating a buzz by transporting trainees directly onto the bridge of a warship. Developed by Portsmouth-based Metaverse VR Ltd, these state-of-the-art tools are designed to mimic real-life naval experiences closely. Stephen Smallman, a trainee warfare officer, expressed how immersive the experience is: "You feel like you are stepping onto the bridge of a warship." This new tech brings every scenario to life, from resupply missions to navigating rough seas. The Royal Navy has invested £27 million into this cutting-edge training approach, aiming to speed up and enhance the learning process for navigating complex warships. With additional plans to incorporate futuristic DragonFire laser weapons by 2027, the Navy is setting new standards in military training and preparedness. #VR #virtualreality #techtrends #technews #innovation
