This document is designed to provide Clinical Guidelines for the use of Dynamic Seating with clients who have the potential to develop increased postural control and function. #Dynamicseating provides movement within a #wheelchair. When the client moves, the dynamic seating components move with the client, maintaining alignment with the seating system for postural support, skin integrity preservation, and stability. Clients who move against this resistance in a small and controlled range develop increased postural control, particularly trunk and head control, as well as increased function (Lange, et al, 2017; Lange, 2016). https://ow.ly/l9zt50QCp7q

PAPRs with loose-fitting hoods or helmets can be used by employees with facial hair, eliminating the need for a tight seal against the face. This alternative is common in environments with H2S, ensuring adequate protection. Employers must guarantee the effectiveness of these alternatives based on H2S concentration and workplace conditions. OSHA Standards, such as 29 CFR 1910.134(g)(1) and Fit Testing Procedures in Appendix A, address the use of respiratory protection in the presence of facial hair. These guidelines are crucial to maintaining safety in workplaces with H2S exposure. For a quick summary of OSHA's recommendations for H2S safety for employees with beards: - Tight-fitting facepiece respirators require employees to pass a fit test, which can be compromised by facial hair. - Conditions like facial hair that interfere with the respirator seal are not permitted. - Alternative respiratory protection like PAPRs with loose-fitting hoods can be used by employees with facial hair, with employers ensuring adequate protection based on H2S concentration and workplace conditions. These resources provide essential information on protecting workers from H2S exposure, especially for those with facial hair. #OSHA #SafetyFirst #WorkplaceSafety
