I had the honor of presenting a paper titled "Project induced displcaement and resettlement policy in Nepal” at the International Conference on Displacement Justice: Global challenges, issues, and strategies. The conference was held in silguri, India. It brought together scholars, policymakers, researcher, practitioners and distinguished judges from around the world to discuss critical issues surrounding forced displacement and equitable remedies. Representing Nepal we discussed on the topic project induced displacement of nepal and its effects on communities of nepal. In this study, we delve into the governance of internal migration in India, focusing on the COVID-19 pandemic. Utilising the Interstate Migrant Policy Index (IMPEX), we analyse state policies before and after the pandemic, shedding light on the vulnerabilities of low-income migrants and the extent to which pandemic-induced attention has translated into long-term policy measures.
