20 June marks the World Refugee Day which serves as a platform to acknowledge the bravery and determination of individuals who have been compelled to flee their homeland due to conflicts or persecution. Are you a youth worker or a trainer working with young refugees? Then you should join us! The Quality Assurance for All project believes that youth work has the potential to help us overcome asymmetrical power relations, but a change in the narrative is needed to shift to a perspective that acknowledges the multiple facets of injustice that young people experience in their everyday lives. We need quality assurance tools that are designed, implemented, and evaluated from an intersectional and human rights-based perspective. Learn more at: https://lnkd.in/dhAvyhxK

I truly believe in standing by each other, not just lending a hand. We all need someone in our corner, cheering us on and helping us reach our dreams. It's about more than just helping – it's about supporting by believing in each other's abilities and giving each other the support we need to succeed. Watch this short film, words, reality. A must watch from Migrant Help 🧡 for #RefugeeWeek.
How does it feel to leave your home behind? What would you take? Join us this Refugee Week as we reflect on the impossible choices faced by millions of refugees. Our film ‘Leaving’ brings to life the beautiful words of the poet Momtaza Mehri, narrated by the wonderful Adjoa Andoh while shining a light on the harrowing reality of forced displacement. No-one chooses where they are born, or the struggles or conflict they are born into. No-one chooses to be a refugee. They deserve hope and understanding from us all. #WorldRefugeeDay #RefugeeWeek #RefugeesWelcome #SupportPeopleSeekingAsylum

"Stop the Boats." … But What If We Stopped the Hate Instead? On this World Refugee Day, we must confront the harsh realities and harmful narratives surrounding refugees and migrants. In her powerful blog, Azza Essakhi reminds us how history and empathy often get sidelined in the face of nationalism and prejudice. As someone with a mixed heritage, Azza eloquently delves into how easily any of us could have been born into a life where fleeing is the only option. She asks the pressing question: Why do we allow history to repeat its mistakes when it comes to supporting those in desperate need? ⏩ Dive into Azza's blog and reflect on how we can learn from the past to create a more inclusive and humane future. Read it below 👇🏻 #WithRefugees #WorldRefugeeDay #HumanRights
