What does Colorado's workforce look like? The 2023 Colorado Talent Pipeline Report demonstrates that Colorado continues to outpace national job growth averages and has the 5th highest-ranking labor force participation rate at 68.7%. According to the report, the state added 42,700 jobs between Aug. 2022 and Aug. 2023. Grand Junction's MSA experienced the same job growth as Denver within the last year, with 1,000 added jobs. Read the full report at https://hubs.la/Q02f2t-Z0 The report also identified methods to advance Colorado's workforce, including incentivizing talent development strategies that are evidence-based and led by employers, such as on-the-job training and apprenticeships. It emphasized the need to blur the lines between K-12, postsecondary education and training, and the workforce by embracing earn-and-learn models and improving access to affordable education opportunities. #ChooseColorado #EconomicDevelopment #WorkforceDevelopment #ColoradoEmployment Colorado Workforce Development Council

Driving Growth for Innovators | Fractional CMO | Human-Centered Strategic Brand and Marketing Leader
The narrative that a four-year college degree is somehow the only way Oregonians can gain "family wage" jobs and ensure equity misses the nuance that alternative education paths offer. Many prominent companies as well as state and federal agencies have developed paid training programs that offer on-the-job learning for numerous entry-level positions. (ODOT's program was so popular that they have closed down enrollment) These programs enable participants to progress in their careers and earn a "family wage." Trade jobs, which are both in-demand and well-compensated, face a shortage of educators to meet the growing need. Rather than fixating on college enrollment rates, it is more important to emphasize the diverse post-secondary opportunities available and provide awareness and resources to ensure the sustainability of ALL career paths.
