Experienced Leader in Health Care change. Boundless energy in the pursuit of team-based community focused health care - for Older Adults with Complexity and Dementia.
Enjoy this introductory video as I seek an OMA board role. Accessible, comprehensive, and person-focused health care is attainable in hospitals, in LTC, and in community. But ONLY if government spending creates publicly funded system change.
The pandemic laid bare the problems of the past and galvanized my focus. I represent solutions over complaints and teams in primary care offices over spending on bricks and mortar.
Real change takes experience, not tweeting policy or spending for political expediency. The current trajectory of Health Care delivery is not acceptable. Physicians and all health care professionals are deeply committed to finding solutions.
The OMA must push governments and politicians to move Health Care delivery into the community.
Voting instructions to OMA members via email. Due to the ranked balloting system, please consider placing my candidacy as one of your top two (2) votes! Elections runs January 8, to noon February 2, 2024. https://lnkd.in/gEb5mYvt

I am enjoying the habit of boosting examples of leadership in action. Perhaps I should use it as a feature in the upcoming newsletter- Words can influence minds but actions build the future. Cheers to a brighter future in cancer care.
Breaking News! Great news for Irvine & Santa Ana CA residents and oncology professionals. A new facility is coming to the southern CA region, bringing care options closer to home. Residents, healthcare leaders, and market stats all suggest that this is exactly what the area needs.
For those living in the area, this means better options for care nearer to you, without having to drive over an hour for the type of doctor you need. Bringing top-notch care options closer to residents is critical to access and changes how many will experience treatment in the area. It means less cost to patients who travel out of town and pay for overnight stays. It means actually getting the care you deserve for those who are not able to overcome geographical and financial barriers to care in their region.
For those working in rad-onc or planning to, and are from the area, you are getting a brand new facility as an option for your career. You can reconsider having to move away from your relatives to get the best job in your field. A trusted name and the best minds in the field are now in your backyard. This will drive oncology professionals to the region for better cost of living, housing, and research opportunities.
Thank you to everyone involved in bringing care options closer to the southern CA region in Irvine. Let's celebrate better options for care and career opportunities for oncology workers. #Irvine#SantaAna#healthcare#oncology#careeropportunities#newfacility#healthcaretechnicalstaffing
System Chief Executive - City of Hope Medical Foundation & National Physician Organization
Today, leaders from across the City of Hope system came together to launch the activation of our new and upcoming Irvine Hospital. It was a historic day as we plan for our second academic hospital in Southern California.
Toward the end of the session leaders Annette Walker, Wendy Austin, Annette Morgan, M.B.A., Laura Grant, Dr. Ed Kim and I - took questions from the audience. At the start of the Q&A, there was silence for almost a minute as scores of leaders took their phones out and began taking pictures of the panel. Here is the moment Ed and I realized the audience was actually scanning the bar code above our heads in order to submit their questions - not taking a picture. Our influencer moment quickly evaporated!
Thank you to all our leaders who participated. This will be an exceptional journey as we open a world class hospital in Irvine. Your talent, compassion and focus will lead to a place of healing like no other.
Did you know? North Suburban has once again been recognized by the Lown Institute as one of the most socially responsible hospitals in America, receiving "A" grades in Equity, Value and Outcomes on the 2024-25 Lown Institute Hospitals Index? Out of more than 3,500 hospitals measured by Lown, only 5% achieved honor roll status, with North Suburban ranking among this select group of high performers. Learn more at https://lnkd.in/gMp7Z8is.
A glowing review for Dr. William Boleman, MD! ⭐️
"I have been a patient for over 15 years and have great respect for this practice. This was my first time seeing Dr Boleman and he is wonderful - just like the entire staff of the Newnan office!"

I am a candidate in the 2024 OMA election for the Board of Directors. Voting runs from January 8 to February 2; instructions will be sent to OMA members via email.
I feel strongly that the direction of the OMA must change to support its members first and always. This is the most effective way the OMA can support the rebuilding of our health care system - by ensuring a that physicians' work is sustainable physically, psychologically and financially. Physicians cannot solve all the system's problems, and where we have made suggestions, these have largely gone unheeded.
Our members and our patients experience each and every day the failings of a system neglected by a directionless bureaucracy at the Ministry of Health and Ontario Health. Politicizing of the health care system has resulted in it being treated like a soccer ball in a never-ending game of election and re-election. The results are predictable: low morale, staffing crises, career choices that shun comprehensive longitudinal health care.
The OMA needs to bring these truths to bear on the media, politicians and bureaucrats. Years of appeasement and helpful suggestions have only resulted in increased suffering by OMA members.
Governance transformation at the OMA (which I helped lead) was meant to ensure that members' voices are heard and acted on. I know how this is supposed to work. Let's make it happen by being clear in our mission, transparent to our members, the media and the public, and accountable to the selfless doctors that spend as much time patching up the system as they do patching up their patients.
