Happy NATO Veterans Day! The NATO Veterans Initiative - NAVI, guided by the principles outlined in the NATO Veterans White Paper, proposes the establishment of "NATO Veterans Day" on April 4th. The North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) has been a symbol of international cooperation, solidarity, and peace since its establishment on April 4th, 1949; and the men and women who have served under the banner of NATO have demonstrated unwavering dedication to the principles of democracy, freedom, and the collective defense of member nations; and it is fitting and proper to recognize and honor the sacrifices, contributions, and commitment of NATO veterans who have served in the defense of shared values and the protection of global peace. To this end, NAVI seeks to extend the network of veterans in NATO member and partner countries, fostering a shared awareness and commitment to upholding the values for which we fought. "NATO Veterans Day" will serve as a pivotal moment to amplify the educated perspectives and opinions of NATO Veterans, reinforcing NATO's dedication to its core principles. #1NATO75Years

It was a pleasure to review John Olsen's edited "Routledge Handbook of NATO" for the Royal United Services Institute Journal. It's really an excellent resource on the Alliance, now celebrating its 75th anniversary in Washington DC, the city where the North Atlantic Treaty was signed. Three points stand out: 1) the sheer weight of NATO activity, as revealed by this 500-page tome; 2) the importance of the US to NATO, of NATO to European security, and of European security to the US; and 3) the need for creative thinking about war and strategy in an era of renewed threat and uncertainty. Timely reading ahead of this year's NATO summit. https://lnkd.in/e82TgQ8U NATO NATO Defense College North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO) Routledge Routledge Taylor & Francis Group

Today, Poland celebrates the 104 anniversary of the Battle of Warsaw. Polish forces under the command of Marshall Pilsudski defeated the Bolshevik Red Army thus halting the Soviet advance on Europe. Lord Edgar d’Abernon a British diplomat stationed in Warsaw called the Battle of Warsaw one of the 18th most important battles in world military history. A Soviet victory would likely have meant that Europe would have fallen to Soviet totalitarianism. Unfortunately, representatives of the current authoritarian government of Donald Tusk continue to resurface its pro Russian “reset” and thus undermining TransAtlantic relationships. This policy continuation is best illustrated by past examples where Tusk allowed Poland’s military intelligence services which are headed by personnel who have dubious Russian ties and signed a letter of agreement to spy against NATO members. This hideous agreement stunned our NATO Allies. Our American allies have asked the Polish government to remove this current military intelligence leadership. But today is a day to celebrate our historical heritage. As Marshal Pilsudski stated a nation that does not know it’s historical past has no reason to exist. 💪👍🇵🇱❤️

25 Years of Poland in NATO On March 12, 1999, Poland became a member of NATO. Today, Poland is the leader on NATO’s Eastern flank and is contributing approximately 4% of its GNP towards defense spending. It has been a pillar of trans Atlantic relations and a stalwart in terms of its support for Ukraine. In a few years, Poland will likely have Europe’s largest land army. For the interested English reader, I recommend four books on NATO: 1) Ronald Asmus, Opening NATO’s Door, (2) James M. Goldgeier, Not Whether But When: The US Decision to Enlarge NATO, (3) James M. Goldgeier and Itzkowitz Shifrinson, Evaluating NATO Enlargement: From Cold War Victory to the Russian-Ukranian War, (4) Massimo De Leonardo’s, (ed), NATO in the Post-Cold War Era: Continuity and Transformation.

Today we mark 75 years since the North Atlantic Treaty was signed in Washington, DC, creating the most successful military alliance in human history—NATO. The Alliance was created to prevent another major war and protect against Moscow’s ambitions to conquer more of Europe. Russia is waging the largest and most devastating war in Europe since the Second World War so that it can conquer Ukraine. Fearing they could suffer the same aggression, Sweden and Finland joined the Alliance. Not only is NATO membership the best way to ensure Ukrainians can live in peace, but welcoming the strongest military in Europe into NATO will only make the Alliance stronger. Ukraine’s future is in NATO and it is on all of us to open the way for NATO’s future 33rd member. 🇺🇦 #NATO #Anniversary #NATOAlliance #Razom #RazomforUkraine #RazomAdvocacy

🌟 Congratulations! 🌟 An impressive 75% of you answered our question correctly! 🌍 NATO is More Than a Military Alliance 🌍 NATO is a political and military alliance. It promotes democratic values and enables members to consult and cooperate on defense and security issues, building trust and preventing conflicts. While striving for peace, NATO also has the capabilities to defend, deter and manage crises. By linking North America's security with Western Europe's, NATO ensures mutual defence, deters war, and fosters stability and economic growth. 🗓️ When and Where 🗓️ After World War II, Europe was divided by Cold War tensions. Eastern Europe fell under Soviet control, while Western Europe aimed to rebuild and stabilize. To counter Soviet expansion, twelve countries from both sides of the Atlantic formed NATO in 1949. 🔧 How It Works 🔧 NATO operates on a consensus basis, meaning that all decisions require the agreement of all member countries. This ensures that all voices are heard and that policies reflect the collective will of the alliance. 🌟 NATO: Born from Unity, Built for Peace 🌟 #UNVEILINGNATO #NATO2024 #75anniversary #deterrence #dialogue

⚡WW3 INFO ⚔️🇨🇳🇷🇺🇰🇵⚡🇯🇵– China will build a strategic submarine base at the mouth of the Tumen River with help from Russia and North Korea 📰 Jennifer Zeng wrote on X media; "This is Xi Jinping's "strategic vision" for this region (Japan and Sea of Japan/East Sea or Sea of Korea) If the CCP and Russia can take down Japan somehow, this area can become a sharp arrow aimed at the United States. Xi Jinping has even already named the planned port: Zhebi. It is a Mongolian word for arrow or sword. It was also the name for a famous military general skilled in archery under Genghis Khan, the founding emperor of the Yuan Dynasty in China. The project will be built in the name of developing the Tumen River outlet, and they will claim its a civilian project. But in fact, it is military."
