🌍🌱 It's #NetZeroWeek, and we're committed to achieving Net Zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2030, delivering on a 1.5-degree future 20 years ahead of the UN's target! So, what does ‘net zero by 2050’ actually mean? By 2050, the UK (and countries all over the world) are aiming to balance the greenhouse gases they emit with the amount they remove from the atmosphere, making its net contribution to climate change zero. This means that right now, businesses across the economy need to cut emissions as close to zero as possible by switching from fossil fuels to clean technologies like renewables. Most emissions must be entirely eliminated without relying solely on carbon removal technologies. Our 2022 progress shows our dedication to these goals, as we strive to become Net Zero well ahead of schedule. 🌳🌾 Net Zero is achievable and can be a game-changer if done right. Let's work together for a sustainable future! 💚🌿 #ClimateAction #Sustainability #CleanEnergy #NetZero2050

🌍🍃 Exciting News: Our Commitment to a Net Zero Future! 🍃🌍 First let's understand what does Net Zero mean: Global net zero emissions, or simply net zero, is a state in which human-caused emissions are balanced by human-caused carbon dioxide removals over a specified time period. In some contexts, "emissions" refers to emissions of all greenhouse gases, and in other contexts it refers only to emissions of carbon dioxide. Now let me tell you why it is important:🌟 The climate crisis is one of the most pressing challenges of our time, and we believe it's our responsibility to take bold action. By committing to Net Zero Carbon Emissions, we are pledging to reduce our carbon footprint to the lowest possible level and offset any remaining emissions. This is not just a corporate goal; it's a promise to our planet and future generations. Now let's understand how can we achieve this: There are many ways to reduce our carbon emission but let me tell you six simple ways: Choose a zero carbon backed electricity tariff. Cut down your energy use, and stay in shape. Heat electric. Drive electric. Change when you use your energy. Think bigger! #NetZero #ClimateAction #Sustainability #GreenFuture #OurPlanet #CarbonEmissions #TogetherForChange

🌍 Understanding Carbon Footprint and How Companies Are Leading the Movement 🌱 ➡ A carbon footprint is the total amount of greenhouse gases (GHGs) emitted directly and indirectly by an individual, organization, event, or product throughout its lifecycle. These emissions, primarily carbon dioxide (CO2), contribute to global warming and climate change. The carbon footprint is measured in units of carbon dioxide equivalents (CO2e), which standardizes the impact of different greenhouse gases based on their global warming potential. ⚠How Companies Are Reducing Carbon Footprints: ◾Carbon Neutral Goals: Setting targets to become carbon neutral by reducing emissions and investing in offset projects. ◾Renewable Energy: Transitioning to solar, wind, and hydro power to cut down on fossil fuel reliance. ◾Sustainable Supply Chains: Ensuring eco-friendly practices throughout the supply chain to minimize overall impact. ◾Green Innovations: Investing in energy-efficient technologies and sustainable solutions like electric vehicles and green packaging. ◾Employee Engagement: Encouraging eco-friendly habits among employees through programs and incentives. ◾Offset Programs: Supporting reforestation and renewable energy projects to balance out unavoidable emissions. ▶By prioritizing carbon footprint reduction, companies are driving a movement towards a sustainable future. Together, we can make a significant impact. Let’s keep the momentum going! #CarbonFootprint #Sustainability #ClimateAction #RenewableEnergy #GreenTech #CorporateResponsibility

Bridging the Ambition-Action Gap Towards Net Zero Emissions In the fight against climate change, net-zero emissions are the ultimate target. This balance, where emissions match removal efforts, is vital to limit global warming to a safe 1.5 degrees Celsius. Yet, while ambitious net-zero goals are set, a significant gap exists between intentions and actions. According to the UN Environment Program Emissions Gap Report 2022, we're on track for a perilous 2.7-degree Celsius temperature rise by the century's end. To close this gap, a rapid, comprehensive transformation is needed. Here are the key steps: 1. Decarbonize Energy: The energy sector, a major emissions source, must shift to renewables and enhance energy efficiency. 2. Electrify Transportation: Transition to electric vehicles and bolster public transport to cut emissions. 3. Reduce Industrial and Agricultural Emissions: Develop and deploy emission-reduction tech for these sectors. 4. Protect and Restore Forests: Safeguarding and revitalizing forests are crucial for carbon absorption. Achieving net-zero emissions requires collaboration across sectors—governments, businesses, and individuals. Here's how each sector can contribute: Governments: Set ambitious net-zero goals and create supportive policies. Invest in renewables and energy efficiency. Offer incentives for emission reductions. Explore carbon pricing. Businesses: Set net-zero targets for operations and supply chains. Invest in renewables and energy efficiency. Innovate low-carbon products and services. Collaborate with suppliers to cut emissions. Individuals: Reduce personal carbon footprints—drive less, eat sustainably, and limit air travel. Support emission-reducing businesses and organizations. Advocate for government policies promoting net-zero economies. Achieving net-zero emissions is challenging but essential. With collective efforts, we can bridge the gap between ambition and action, securing a sustainable future. #ClimateAction #NetZero #Sustainability #RenewableEnergy #EmissionsReduction

It’s Net Zero Week™: the UK's official national awareness week for net zero - and the biggest net zero conference. Net Zero Week highlights the crucial role we all play in our planet’s future. With every passing year, the impact of climate change is becoming ever more evident - and it's so clear we all need to massively reduce our carbon emissions to combat the effects of climate change. Net zero provides the biggest opportunity for all generations to do what we can to drive energy transition, lower temperatures and safeguard our environment - and our future. This week should be all about awareness - but we also hope it will be about action. For many, climate change may feel too big for them, as an individual, to make any difference - but you can. We all can. Here at Thermly, we’re helping homeowners install heat pumps simply and quickly. Why? Because according to the Carbon Trust, heat pumps can provide 30% of carbon emission savings when compared to conventional natural gas boilers. When heat pumps are partnered with a renewable electricity supplier, heat generation is 100% carbon neutral. That means that making a difference to net zero and to the future of our planet is actually something we can all do. We know there are some perceived barriers to entry when it comes to installing a heat pump. That’s why we’re here - to help you find the right information for you and your home, the funding you may need and the right installers to do the work properly. With Net Zero Week upon us, let’s all be more aware of how we can positively impact the earth - and let’s translate that into planet-positive action ☘ #netzeroweek #heatpumps #climatechange #planetpositive #sustainability #greenenergy #heatingsolutions
