We recently hosted a panel discussion on government-run online #TaxFiling, exploring lessons learned and the road ahead at the federal and state levels! The group discussed what made federal #DirectFile a success, how governments can apply these practices elsewhere, how Direct File can scale to more users, and what the path looks like for achieving state direct file nationwide. The discussion of state tax filing featured a live demo of Code for America’s #FileYourStateTaxes. What does a day in the life of a project manager at Nava look like? Well, in this new article, our very own Michelle Garfinkel gives us a sneak peak! Apart from typical duties like keeping projects on track, Michelle dives deeper into her role building sustainable team operations and long term momentum. Nava is honored to announce that we’ve won an unrestricted prime award on the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS)' Office of Grants Software Integration and Frontend Technology (SWIFT) bulk purchasing agreement (BPA). This five-year, $100M contract vehicle award enables us to continue supporting HHS’ Office of Grants’ critical work. Last year, Nava began work with HHS to help redesign Grants.gov, a website that is the front door for grants across the federal government and disburses more than $500 billion in grants every year impacting states, nonprofits, and community organizations across the country. Looking forward, we’re excited to find new ways to collaborate with the Office of Grants under the SWIFT BPA. We’ll support their work overseeing federal grantmaking, offering training and development to grantees, and operating Grants.gov, where over ten million people find and apply for federal grants.
