Covid gave birth to a different kind of attitude amongst some people. Today's youth is very very comfortable not having a full time job or work. They are okay with the idea of sitting at home and trying their hands at different things specially social media . While some are doing that seriously and are quite successful, but majority of them have found an escape route to tell their family, friends and the society that they are doing something while the truth is most of them are just wasting time and getting nowhere. Sometimes, it really scares me when I think so few people are actually skilled for their jobs. Most of them still rely on their parents for expenses. If you are hiring, you would know, how difficult it is to find sincere people. Someone rightly said - tough times create strong men, strong men create good times, and good times create weak men, and weak men create tough times. What do you think?

Tell me about it Naval Goel. I see it every day in my work. The intent to acquire skill, work hard and do well is at its all-time low!

My dad was talking on the phone to someone today morning. Was that you, Naval? :)

I doubt it's just COVID, but also the subscription-based internet penetration models launched before it. People consumed around a GB on their phone in a month before it; now its a GB on any given day, and that has a direct correlation with their screen time. The ease and accessibility have for sure brought a tonne of benefits, but regulations need to be in place for consumption, or we just have a generation waiting to be replaced by AI being built by the previous generation. Someone also rightly said - People are no longer enslaved physically, but rather mentally.

Well said! You are absolutely right.. it is indeed scary! They dont realise one must work hard in youthful days when they are bursting with energy and stamina only then they can retire peacefully at a later age. Dont know why everyone conforms to the idea of life is short, enjoy everything you can now itself and leave the worries for tomorrow 😧

Insightful post! I've noticed the same shift in attitudes. Balancing empathy and expectations is crucial. Encouraging skill development and a strong work ethic can make a difference. My hiring pool has reduced because majority of candidates looking for WFM opportunity
