🚢 The Royal Navy is facing a significant challenge with a shortage of ships and sailors, leading to potential decommissioning of warships and even considering renting ships to expand the fleet. This comes at a time when the Navy is crucial for safeguarding international waters and supporting global operations. 🌊⚓ What are your thoughts on this situation? Should the Royal Navy focus on recruiting more personnel, or is leasing ships a viable solution? 🤔💬 #RoyalNavy #Military #Defense #NavalFleet #UKNews #Sailors #ShipShortage #GlobalSecurity #YourThoughts #DiscussionTime

10JUL2024 WED Dear Citizen(s) of the Nation, Colleague(s) & Friend(s), Rs. 98 Lakhs for a deceased "Agniveer" indicates a sum of "Six Times the Monthly Salary" of Rs. 2,04,166.67 ps (Rounded Off - Rs. 2,04,000/-) ... considering that an "Agniveer" draws a sum of Rs 30,000/- per month on joining the Armed Forces ..which is not being revealed in this discussion with Rear Admiral Arun PRAKASH ... Today Education & Training System(s) are in line with the sophistication of technology in Artillery, Navy & Air Force. so why should it take a 5-6 years long period for a young recruit to master lethal weapons systems ? ... even "sustaining" the existing level of competency over a period exceeding 4 years till 10 years as is being suggested is difficult and does not happen in reality, let alone "enhancing" their level of competency over a decade long period .. No changes necessary to the existing "Agniveer" scheme - By Order. https://lnkd.in/dvJUA2kS

Thirty-three years ago - toward what would end up being the end of Operation Desert Storm - the ordinance crew from Attack Squadron Three-Five (VA-35) loaded 22 Mk-82 500lb (230 kg) unguided, low drag general purpose bombs onto our squadron's A-6E Intruder. During the Persian Gulf War it is estimated that 4,500 GBU-12/Mk-82 were dropped onto Iraqi forces - all loaded by the strong backs of sailors and airmen. From the pictures below the task of uploading 22 500 pound bombs on a single aircraft is hard, back breaking labor. The burden of loading these weapons onto a four aircraft division only added to the daily stress and fatigue for the crew who worked tirelessly for more than 6 months. That's more than 45,000 lbs (22 tons) of ordnance - not to mention the time it took to prepare the weapons for safe release. The dedication and commitment by our Navy sailors never wavered - true unsung heroes of VA-35 and Navy Squadrons deployed in the Red Sea and Arabian Gulf. As a young naval officer, division officer, and squadron pilot I watched them toil, without complaint, instead joking and chiding each other to do more despite their exhaustion. On this given day I decided to help decrease their burden loading those weapons - just one sailor helping another - silently - without hesitation. Regardless of rank - are you willing to roll up your sleeves - and help those who never ask for help? Are you uninhibited by hierarchy? #navy, #navalaviation, #leadership, #usnavy, #innovation, #usna, #calledtoserve

The Military Awards System is corrupted and overwhelmingly favors officers. Can someone explain what is going on here. As you can see in the main picture, as a BGen this officer does not have the Combat Action Ribbon (CAR). Then top right as a 3 star, he doesn't have the CAR either. Then bottom as a 4 star, he has the CAR....how did this happen? The CAR is for Colonels and below "who have actively participated in ground or surface combat." The ribbon is awarded to members of the Navy and Marine Corps with a rank no higher than captain and colonel, respectively. So how does a 4 star end up with the CAR all of a sudden? Also see my Podcast on the Broken Military Awards System. https://lnkd.in/duZYvm4z

#DidYouKnow❓ The U.S. Navy faces particularly high corrosion costs due to harsh marine environments, often surpassing the expenses of most high-priced ships and weapons systems. Salt water and high humidity create a perfect storm for corrosion, affecting everything from aircraft carriers to submarines. This “sea of challenges” demands constant vigilance and innovative solutions to maintain fleet readiness and operational capabilities. #TacticalThursday #CombatCorrosion #USNavy #USMilitary #MarineCorrosion #NavalShips #NavalEngineering #AMPP

The equipment can never fail! This is true if it's a simple tool or a complex weapon system.
"It is vital that military equipment work wherever in the world American Soldiers need it, and extreme cold is a weather condition troops have contended with frequently in American history." Soldiers from the Alaska-based 11th Airborne Division, U.S. Army put the Next Generation Squad Weapon through its paces in sub-zero temperatures. Gen. Curtis LeMay famously stated, "We go to war with the army we have." But Col. Purcell's insight, "We go to war twice a year," takes this a step further. It underscores the constant need to evolve our military capabilities. The V-22 Osprey embodies this philosophy. It's not just about replicating existing missions; it's about unlocking entirely new possibilities. The V-22 is a testament to our commitment to staying ahead of the curve. It's not just about winning the fights we have today, but being prepared for the unforeseen challenges of tomorrow. #V22Osprey #MilitaryInnovation #NationalSecurity
