🌍 Sustainability at Navistar: A Commitment to Our Planet and People 🌍 Sustainability has always been a key focus in my career, especially during my time as CEO of LOTS Group Latam where we worked tirelessly to enhance sustainability in the Latin American transport sector through more efficient logistics chains, vehicles powered by alternative fuels, and various systems and technologies that supported this transition. Now, at Navistar Inc, I am proud to share our latest strides in this crucial area. In June, the company shared its 2023 Sustainability Report, highlighting our dedication to sustainable mobility, focusing on decarbonization and our broader responsibility towards the environment and society. Here are some key highlights of the report: - Science-Based Targets: We've committed to developing targets consistent with the Science Based Target Initiative. - UN Global Compact: Joining this initiative reinforces our dedication to universal principles in human rights, labor, environment, and anti-corruption. - Double Materiality Assessment: We evaluated and engaged with stakeholders on vital sustainability topics, including climate change and equal opportunities. - Electric CE Series: Launched the next-gen CE Series with both diesel and electric options, advancing the transition to electric vehicles. - Charging Infrastructure for ZEVs: Partnered with industry stakeholders to launch Powering America's Commercial Transportation (PACT) for nationwide ZEV infrastructure. - International® S13 Integrated Powertrain, engine with 15% boost in efficiency: Began production at our Huntsville, Alabama facility. These WindWings stand as a modern marvel at 37.5 meters tall, are crafted from steel and glass fibers, and they also symbolize a harmonious blend of historical maritime practices and cutting-edge technology. This innovation harks back to the era when sail and power worked hand-in-hand, demonstrating that looking back can indeed help us move forward, especially in our quest for sustainability. As the Pyxis Ocean journeys across the world's major oceans, it's achieving significant fuel savings and reducing carbon dioxide emissions by the equivalent of removing 480 cars from the road.
