Chinese Aircraft Carrier Base at Ream, Cambodia: The suspected new overseas base of the Chinese Navy in Ream, Cambodia, has undergone significant expansion, with the addition of a dry dock on reclaimed land and a pier that appears to be large enough to accommodate an aircraft carrier. Notably, this development shares some similarities with China's existing naval base in Djibouti. These resemblances reinforce the widely held view that this expanding facility is intended for the People's Liberation Army Navy (PLAN) rather than the Royal Cambodian Navy. The growth of this naval presence raises questions about China's strategic interests and its expanding reach in the region. The Japanese Navy Izumo-class Destroyers In today’s article, I will discuss the impact of the Japanese expanding their carrier fleet and naval capacities in the Indo-Pacific region and what that means in international relations and geopolitics. The number one reason for the expansion of Japanese military power is that the United States of America has been withdrawing from its global commitments as the protector of international free trade since the end of World War II in 1945. The United States created globalisation, as we understand it, as a bribe to win over allies against the Soviet Union and defeat the forces of communism during the…

Did you know that the United Kingdom has an incredible military history? From aircraft carriers to infantry regiments to naval forces, Britain's military capabilities are truly impressive. 💪 The Royal Navy is the oldest of the three military services, and it traces its roots back to 15th century. Its key roles include patrolling the waters around the UK, detecting and interdicting threats on the international waters, and providing security for the vessels of other nations. 🛳 The Royal Air Force and British Army are the other two branches of the UK's military service. The air force has the world's oldest air force museum and some of the most modern jet trainers and combat aircraft. The army is responsible for training, equipping, and deploying troops to protect the nation. 🔩 Finally, the UK also boasts a powerful reserve force that can be called upon to supplement the regular forces when needed. 🕰 #ukmilitary #royalnavy #royalairforce #BritishArmy #funfactfriday 🇬🇧

The intensified Chinese military activity in the Taiwan Strait, following Lai’s inauguration, was designed to intimidate and deter. It does not indicate an imminent intention to launch a military attack on Taiwan or to impose a naval blockade. Having exercised relative restraint in the run-up to Taiwan President Lai’s inauguration, the PLA launched a series of military exercises immediately thereafter. These involved unprecedented numbers of ships and aircraft and incorporated several new elements: the exercises came closer to Taiwan’s outlying islands and there was a high level of naval activity off Taiwan’s east coast, including for the first time Chinese paramilitary coastguard vessels. And for the first time, they combined simulation of a naval blockade with follow up attack formations. #China #Taiwan #PLA
