#WEF2025 #AdvertisingAndBrandCommunications #TheGlobalEconomy I don't know how many of you have been following the WEF annual summit that has just concluded at Davos. It's a meeting where you hardly see or hear any of the business leaders from the advertising and brand communications industry. But since so many of the world's largest companies' CEOs are there, it makes sense for heads of the advertising conglomerates at least to be there and to participate. In past years, I noticed that Martin Sorrell of WPP and Maurice Levy of Publicis were always there and would share their views on media, especially CNBC. The past couple of years, though, unprofessional PR agency idiot bosses from Perfect Relations in India seem to have taken over and meddled so much with the conference programme and the media coverage of it, including Indian news channels', that it has become awful! This time a WEF Davos panel discussion did feature Martin Sorrell, and guess what they were discussing! Mass events! Take a look. 🙄 Do read my blog post tomorrow on how the year has begun with Trump in office and the world at Davos. https://lnkd.in/gU_Y9P_G

Our lives will change when we… ❌ Stop looking from a place of what hasn't happened yet ✅ Start looking from the place of what we would love to happen While having clarity about what we want is important, There are other crucial steps… 💡 Imagination We don't get what we want. We get who we are. Imagination allows us to transcend our limitations, And become the person we wish to become. ⚡️ Energy Often, we approach our desire from the place of not having it. Yet, life responds to our energy. The energy we radiate, Determines what we get to experience. To get what we want, we got to approach it from the place of abundance. 🚀Aligned Actions There is a difference between a busy action and aligned action. Busy action is busy, And may or may not produce the desired results 💁. Aligned action is empowered by the life's intelligence 💫, And always drives momentum towards the desired outcome. I am excited to be speaking at the London Venues Summit on the 1st July, Organised by Forum Events & Media Group, Where I will be sharing strategies for... 💎Activating imagination 💎Generating more energy 💎Taking aligned actions I look forward to meeting other speakers ( Marja-Leena Toseland, Jo Iveson-Pritchard (Assoc CIPD), Joanna Garland, Rebecca Lardeur, Meera Mawkin) , organisers and everyone attending this event. I'm still thinking about The Post Summit... What an incredible event made possible by our community of athletes turned business leaders! A few memorable insights have been on mind ever since we wrapped up our panels on day 3 last week. I wanted to share a these takeaways about health and wellness, sports, leadership, and personal brand. From Pamela Palladino Gold, Robin Mansukhani, and Rikin Patel, DO: -Sleep has profound impacts on both mental and physical performance -Peak performance is directly linked to breath control -For optimal health, track the 3 M’s: Mind, Metabolic state, and Musculoskeletal system From Kirby Porter and Alyssa Romano: -The same qualities that drive success on the field are reflected in some of the most successful companies. Lead business teams with the mindset of a championship sports team. -You (yes you, especially if you're an athlete) are a walking media company -Women's sports are on the rise (if you haven’t noticed) with Unrivaled Sports and activations like ATHLOS From Nada Usina and Mary Wittenberg: -You can lead without being “the” leader -Leaders who don’t adapt will fall behind sooner or later and may stay there -Your principles + values will guide you -Feedback is a gift but you don’t have to accept it all From Prince Amukamara, Sahil Bloom, and Haley Janicek -Want to win? Find asymmetric opportunities -It’s never too late to start -Passionate about a niche or building a brand? Start a newsletter and own your audience Many people quit the moment things get tough, and even more give up the second time challenges arise. But those who persevere through each difficulty are in rare company. Want to join us at virtual and in-person events and catch speakers like these? “Ultra-exclusive conferences are booming. In Sicily, Aspen and Stockholm, Elon Musk and Margot Robbie mingle with bank leaders and media moguls. There’s always another VIP level.” “The newer events make the World Economic Forum’s Davos—with its pop-up media spaces and Getty photographers scattered about—look like a Vegas trade expo. There is a summer excursion to Stockholm for the humbly named Brilliant Minds gathering hosted by Spotify CEO Daniel Ek’s foundation, which some attendees consider the most fun in the elite event lineup.” “The intention is to bring together creative and influential figures with a goal of creating an impact,” one organizer said. “Brilliant Minds’ theme this year is Discovery, and so far, Harvard Business School’s Debora Spar, self-help personality Jay Shetty and Stockholm School of Economics Wellbeing, Welfare and Happiness professor Micael Dahlen are expected to present. Past attendees include former President Obama, filmmaker Darren Aronofsky, Snap’s Evan Spiegel, NBA All-Star Draymond Green and Malala Yousafzai.” “Google camp’s theme for 2024, according to a bare-bones website, is #artificialintelligence role in scientific breakthroughs and addressing global challenges.” So if you aren’t invited, you must not be doing important work in AI. “Helping fuel the desire for invitations is the lore of what Sun Valley has spawned: Sam Altman connected with his most important investor, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, at Allen & Co.’s annual July conference; Disney finance chief Christine McCarthy and CEO Bob Iger got some facetime,” and “Jeff Bezos’ purchase of the Washington Post stems back to Sun Valley moments.” Activities go beyond #technology. “The crowd in Aspen, Colo. were given Barbour vests, offered a walk-and-talk with Olympic running champion Allyson Felix, take a golf clinic with professional golfer Michael Block or bike with Gen. David Petraeus. The bike route climbs more than 2,000 feet starting from an 8,500-foot elevation.” But the big draw is techies, because others want to be around them, with Elon Musk being the main man. “Musk has knocked Davos, tweeting in December 2022: “My reason for declining the Davos invitation was not because I thought they were engaged in diabolical scheming, but because it sounded boring af lol.” Organizers for the World Economic Forum later said Musk was not among the invited.” In one popular event, Elon Musk, talked “with the author of his newly released biography, Walter Isaacson, in an off-the-record conversation moderated by CBS anchor Gayle King. It was one of the hottest tickets on a packed agenda at the ultra-exclusive and secretive conference known as the Weekend.” Bring together the smartest people and the best ideas will come out, or will they? Can’t others analyze and evaluate good ideas? #innovation #startups #ai #hype
