Is your hiring process “worse than buying a house” for the candidate? You’re missing the good candidates.. There are too many options out there now.. Streamline and stress test your own process. Go through it yourself.. eliminate the ‘suck’ that is losing you talent. Also eliminate the process that gets you 100+ applicants per opening, unless you have the staff to cull ALL of them within 48hrs. Those candidates are usually gone by then.

Just an application, 4 interviews, a project, presentation, two team meetings... should have an answer to you by summer, sound good? 😐 Don't be surprised if you lose a great candidate when your process is worse than buying a house. Agree? #recruiting #movefast #jobseekers

In 2023 during my job transition, I interviewed with more then 25 companies. And One question was consistently asked in every interview round: "Tell me about the current project you are working on." The interviewer expects you to explain your tech-stack and project in detail. Make sure you parepare well to explain your key contribution to the project, what feature/value you have added, what are the challenges you have faced and how did you overcome them. #JobSearch #InterviewTips #CareerAdvice #TechCareers #JobHunt #InterviewPreparation #CareerGrowth

If you’re heading into an interview this week, there are endless things you can do to prepare for it. Above all else, make sure you can answer these three questions with confidence: - Why should they hire you? - Why are you interested in this role? - Why do you want to work for this business? These questions might not even come up, but it will give you much needed perspective on whether the role is right for you.

I know this is still often how dragged out hiring processes get but it was like this when I graduated from my master program , as well! I'm not exactly a spring chicken so you think this would have been resolved by now. I got my masters in human resources and Industrial relations in Minneapolis,MN. I was fortunate to have a graduate intern position for the last year around my classes. I did receive an offer there but they expected me to travel 90% of the time. I had recently gotten married and my new husband was not thrilled with the idea of me being gone all the time. Now nearly all positions at that company are remote, a concept no one had heard of back then. Another big company in Minneapolis I was hoping for an offer from had me do three personality tests 24 hours prior to the round robin interviews and when I got on site for the interviews they had me sit in a room for 2 hours and write up a case study. By the time I actually talked to a human I was so exhausted and that I lost interest in them completely. I ended up accepting a position with Medtronic, Inc and let me tell you how slick it was there! All graduates were interviewed in one day and we all had offers the next day if we were receiving them! My mentor at the time told me they did this to stay on top of the competition. What a concept, right? I always remembered that through my recruiting career and was fortunate to experience that best practice. This is not brain surgery, granted some positions do warrant more analysis of the candidate but let's not get extreme and shoot ourselves in the foot. I have found it takes the education of the decision makers. and showing them how the bottom line is affected by the cost per hire often has done the trick. Let's do this right! #streamlinehiringprocess #losingcandidates #increasedcostperhire #lengthlyhiringprocess

🔍 When applying, explore your impact on the team! As a candidate, it's crucial to explore how your joining would influence the team. Ask this key question during the first two rounds of interviews to gather multiple perspectives: How do you see my background and skills addressing the team’s challenges and integrating with current projects? This approach helps you understand the team’s needs, assess fit, and demonstrate your proactive interest in contributing meaningfully. 💼✨ #JobSearchTips #CareerAdvice #InterviewTips #TeamBuilding #CareerDevelopment
