How can university esports programs work towards self funding? 1️⃣ Build a tiered varsity system. 2️⃣ House esports directly under athletics and not somewhere else. 3️⃣ Be consistent. 4️⃣ Educate. Too many scholastic and collegiate esports teams stick to their corner of campus. Tap into the full potential, use your alumni network, and create local value beyond the campus. Do this, and you’ll have the start of a sustainable self-funded program. Times are tough, and I know from experience that you have to activate the resources your campus has in order to support esports long term. Interested in learning how your esports team can adapt to Esports 2.0? Comment “Esports 2.0”, and I’ll provide an initial outline to get you started ———————————— P.S. I’m always up for collaborations and insights into collegiate esports for brands, teams, students, and parents. Send me a message and let’s connect! #esports #highereducation #college #teamsuccess #coachingskills #teammanagement

Take a moment to look at your institution's prospective student journey as if you were a student passionate about esports. 📋 Questions to discuss How easily were you able to find the webpage and information surrounding the team? Was there an upcoming information session you, as a prospective student, were able to register for? Did you find a degree program that meets your passion in pursuing a career in the esports ecosystem? Google "college esports near me", did your institution show up on the first page? Did you successfully find upcoming matches to check out in the future? Is there communication for parents and guardians to inquire about what esports means at the collegiate level for their student? #esportsedu #esportscommunity

Why Focusing on the Meta Isn't Enough in Esports Coaching! Many Esports programs are obsessed with teaching the meta, but the meta is always changing. At ECA, we emphasize mechanical skills and proactive thinking. The next world champion will be a trailblazer, not someone who simply follows online guides. We teach our participants to think strategically and adapt, creating their own path to success. True champions are the meta creators, not followers. Unlock your potential by learning to think ahead and innovate in your gameplay.

🏫🎮Collegiate esports programs are paving the way for major industry changes, but there’s one thing that is still holding back a large portion of programs. At the university level, esports needs to be a varsity sport. There is no standard in treatment of these teams on campuses, and until this is achieved, the industry, even the collegiate one, will continue to be fragmented. ➡️ We see many programs based under an academic department. Some are placed under student services or student success departments, and yet others are placed under the athletic department. Esports has the potential to create dynamic educational spheres that cross various academic disciplines to build a modern system of education, but it needs a standardized anchor to create the structure needed within the ecosystem. That anchor is recognition at the varsity level. Not only will it help the institution thrive in the future, but your students will be better for it. These students will be treated as more than second tier participants in the university life cycle, and they will then be able to showcase this experience to the broader esports industry, which desperately needs their support and perspective. ⭐️Esports programs are live on campus and ready to take the lead! If your institution is struggling with getting your esports program or club recognized as a varsity sport, let’s talk. Integrating academic esports provides a unique and engaging avenue for students to develop teamwork and collaboration skills! 💬 Communication Enhancement: In team-based esports, effective communication is crucial for success. Students learn to convey information clearly, listen to teammates, and coordinate strategies. 🤝 Conflict Resolution: Working in a team setting often involves resolving conflicts and disagreements. Esports provides a platform for students to develop conflict resolution skills in a controlled and collaborative environment. 💡 Adaptability: Esports games are dynamic, and strategies may need to change in response to the opposing team's actions. This encourages students to adapt quickly and work collaboratively to adjust their approach. #academicesports #teamwork #problemsolvingskills
