This is a film from an NIHR project that we conducted a few years ago. I am reposting as I am writing up another project and the SAME issues are coming up. The film focuses on how to measure food insecurity, and local food network knowledge, at the local level. From the current project that I am working on, and national data, the level of poverty and associated food insecurity are not improving. Three important points. 1)The Indices of Multiple Deprivation is not a good predictor of food (in)security at the local level. 2) Measurement is challenging but important as the FRS does not inform local authorities about smaller scale, local interventions. 3)The FRS needs more investment to enable the reach required to make the data valuable at the local authority level. I will be sharing ideas on measurement, at the local level, at a forthcoming Nourish Scotland event in Aberdeen. It will be great to visit Aberdeen (I have never been). https://lnkd.in/eiS-ifkz
