This is our moonshot ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We’re reaching for the stars to enable 1000 women to start and lead tech companies over 5 years - work with us to build this moonshot a tech accelerator for women founders. We are actively looking for key partners! 🚀 The enthusiasm is there. The talent is there. The women are there. But the equity of opportunity is missing. 🌍The lack of financing opportunities isn’t just restricted to Ireland. Currently some 87 per cent of all VC funding in Europe is still raised by all-men teams. The proportion of funding raised by women-only teams has dropped from 3 per cent to 1 per cent since 2018. 📍We are keen to work collaboratively and complement already existing players in the Irish ecosystem. 🏆There are significant financial benefits to backing female-founded companies, noting research undertaken by former NatWest Group chief executive Alison Rose that revealed backing businesses founded by women could unlock billions in additional economic value. https://lnkd.in/eEZJTNZ9 Áine Kerr Dr Lollie Mancey Patricia Scanlon Maura McAdam Oonagh O'Shea Veronica Breene Kieran Towey Kieran O'Brien Jean Rea Jean O'Donnell Martina Naughton Jo N. Check out your mentor, ask for testimonials and ring someone they have mentored. Also try to get someone who is willing to challenge you and push the boundaries and is willing to call out the weaknesses in your product, team and company and help in identifying the threats in the marketplace, (Research before you build-know your customer and competitor) if your mentor doesn't the market definitely will and by then it could be to late. FiBAN is a proud supporter of the Supernovas Business Angel Academy, designed to empower the next generation of women angel investors in Europe. 💙 The academy is organized by the European Institute of Technology EIT, with the support of FRONTTIER. This program, fully funded by the European Commission, will equip up to 100 women across Europe with the skills to invest in promising startups, helping close the gender gap in European Tech. Why this program matters: 💹 Goal: Increase the number of female angel investors in European tech, where they currently represent on average only 10% of all angels. We want to foster greater women's representation in angel investing and the European tech scene. 🌍 Impact: Research shows that women investors are twice as likely to invest in women-led startups. Supernovas will directly drive more capital towards these companies, helping close the gender funding gap. ⏱ PROGRAM & SCHEDULE Begins: The second week of September 2024 - Duration: 7 weeks Cost: Free (funded by the European Commission) ⁉ For Whom? For up to 100 women (50 new angels, 50 experienced angels), who are women residents or nationals from EU countries and associated countries. 👉 Apply to this amazing program here: https://lnkd.in/eVthNUHm #EIT #EuropeanComission #angelinvesting #enkelisijoittaja
