Can you manage your country operation differently to the vision of the global CEO? An interesting test case happened earlier this month with the elections in my home state in Germany. The "country manager" of the local "SPD corporation" (social democrat party) decided to run his election campaign without his "boss" the German chancellor - also from the SPD. It was not kept as a secret that the local guy didnt want to be associated with the chancellors policies and management at his local state election. The Chancellor wasn't even invited to any of the pre election events - so no joined photos would appear. At Antal our slogan is a "Global recruitment solution applied locally" . This always gives the freedom to be more flexible towards local peculiarities, however I suppose in the long term HQ and local country strategy need to be aligned. In a situation where its not, usually we as headhunters get called and either the country manager is being replaced or sometimes the advisory board asks us to change the CEO. It will be interesting to see what's next in the example of my home country. Will they call the headhunters:)? Thoughts? Could you imagine a similar situation in your company - where you don't invite the CEO to a major company event and run a campaign without them? Antal International

Swedish companies are actively seeking reliable partners to help fill these gaps with foreign expertise as demand continues to rise. In 2024 alone, Vattenfall plans to recruit over 2,000 people in Sweden. In the following years, about 1,500 new recruits per year will be needed. EU bubble: EU policy #PublicAffairs #EUPublicAffairs #EUPolicy Given our collaboration with EPSO, a few months ago, I had meetings with a consulting agency (a private company) open to some input for more inclusive recruitment practices. They shared that the applicants they receive are rarely from people of #AfricanDescent or other non EU heritage. So, they are based in Brussels and generally look for people with minimum 2 or 3 years of experience. They are not looking for starters or junior profiles. Feedback / tips: In this EU ecosystem with a fierce competition, companies are "fishing" for talent from the EU institutions. In their case, the recruiter told me that the majority of CV they get are not relevant. "It's like people didn't even read the job requirements."
