I am thrilled to announce that Lambeth Council has approved our plans for Hardess Yard, a transformative co-living and light-industrial development in Brixton, designed for Mitheridge Capital Management and LGL. This BREEAM Outstanding project will create 320 state-of-the-art co-living studios with shared kitchens, meeting and work rooms, café, library, gym, lounges, a screening room and much more. Alongside this, 1400 square metres of light industrial space will cater to the creative industries and provide high-quality studio and commercial space on the eastern fringe of the Brixton Creative Enterprise Zone. This week in our Building Repositioning Series, we're shining a spotlight on the 555 Greenwich+345 Hudson.   This unique project encompasses the renovation of selected areas of 345 Hudson, a 17-story, 980,000 SF, 1931-vintage masonry office building, and new construction of 555 Greenwich, an innovative 16-story, 264,430 SF commercial office building. Designed to be one of the most sustainable commercial properties in the city, 555 Greenwich was devised to exceed New York City’s 2030 climate targets for office buildings by more than 45% and meet New York State’s 2050 carbon neutral targets. More than compliant with Local Law 154, the building is fully electric and eliminates on-site use of fossil fuels while reducing annual electrical usage by 40% and saving 1.5 million gallons of water per year.   As we delve into the narratives behind New York City's most striking building repositioning endeavors, we extend an invitation for you to join us on this transformative journey. Goldfields Group has revealed plans for an A-Grade office block in the heart of Fortitude Valley that it says will “fundamentally change the inner Brisbane office market”. Makeover for Melbourne's Legal Precinct! 1930s Building to Transform into 23-Storey Tower. The Department of Transport and Planning (DTP) is proposing a major revamp of the State Public Offices building on Lonsdale Street. ️ The plan involves: 🔷Demolishing a significant portion of the existing 1930s building 🔷Constructing a modern 23-storey tower behind the preserved Lonsdale Street facade 🔷Creating new office space for Victorian Government departments Designed by architects Wardle, the proposal offers a significant increase in workspace and includes: 🔷Office space from levels 1 to 22 🔷Dedicated bicycle storage in the basement and ground floor This project is another sign of Melbourne's ongoing development and focus on modern, sustainable workspaces. However, there are still hurdles to clear. The proposal needs approval from the City of Melbourne's planning committee before a final decision is made by the Victorian Government. Legendre UK implemented Oculo on their complex Shorts Gardens project in Central London, transforming a historic building into office space with a two-story extension, high-end apartments, and a split-level basement for restaurants. Proximity to the Elizabeth Line tunnel and narrow streets made the project particularly challenging. With Oculo, the team streamlined site documentation, enabling quick updates between the site and office, resolving disputes with concrete evidence, and avoiding unnecessary rework accurately locating pipes and valves behind closed walls. Project Manager Bart Ciurla MCIOB highlighted its impact: "You approach discussions with confidence because there’s a picture nobody can argue with."
