With features like enrollment, course management, student profiles, and financial interactions, it's designed to streamline administrative tasks and enhance efficiency. 🚀 Learning From Mistakes: A Lesson in Asking Questions 🚀 Reflecting on my journey as a grad Software Engineer, I can't help but recall one of the biggest mistakes I made early on: "Assuming" 🤐 instead of "Asking" 🧐 . It's a common pitfall, but one that can teach us valuable lessons. I vividly remember a senior colleague who generously walked me through a project based on ReactJS. Their initial handholding was invaluable, but it was me who blocked myself from expanding my knowledge base by not asking questions. Instead of probing deeper into the "why" behind certain commands, I simply followed suit. When the senior ran "npm start" to ignite the app, I didn't ask why that specific command was used. I assumed it was just the way things were done. It wasn't until later, as I delved deeper into node packages and took a closer look at the "package.json" file, that I had my "aha" moment. I discovered that the keyword "start" in the script section of the package.json file mapped to a corresponding command with a bundler (say parcel), such as "npx parcel <file_name>." This realization was eye-opening. It underscored the importance of not just blindly following commands, but understanding the mechanics behind them. It taught me to always inspect the package.json file, as it holds crucial information about scripts and dependencies. The key takeaway? Never underestimate the power of asking questions and seeking understanding. Life update! 🌿 The idea of transitioning into the field of software development lingered in the back of my mind for quite some time. However, the prospect of leaving behind a stable income to become a student again felt daunting to me. Last summer, I finally took the plunge, and 5 months into my studies, I am extremely happy with my decision! Regardless of what the future holds, I am learning something new every day, and I’m so grateful to feel more motivated than in a very long time. It’s amazing really how much you can learn in a few short months when you put your mind to it! 🤓 ⭐ Among other courses, one that I’m doing is the Code Institute’s Diploma in Full Stack Software Development, and I am proud to share that I've received the grade Distinction on my first three projects. If anyone is curious, I will share the projects below. Incredibly excited to continue this journey and looking forward to keep learning! 💫 Project 1:  Watercolour school - a static website for an imaginary art course provider.  This first project was all about pure HTML and CSS, and introduced me to concepts such as accessibility and responsive design.
