Recruiters. Especially Trading Tech Recruiters. The anchor to all of your processes, interactions and conversations is the job. Without a job you have nothing to fill. Nothing to talk about. Nothing to offer. (Besides a sparkling personality and hopefully some market knowledge). You should understand the job inside out. Who is the company What is their culture What do they do Where in said company is the role Why do they need somebody What will that person do What would be considered a good outcome and over what time period What skills and experience, quantitative and qualitative, will make someone a fit What are the onward opportunities for that person, professionally, personally and financially Why should somebody want to talk to them Understand this and qualify against it. Find people who want what the role has to offer and can meet the needs of the client. If they get it right, then keep them. If they get it wrong, educate them or find a better agency An agency is an extension of your brand.
