Last week, I had the privilege of speaking on a critical issue facing our healthcare system… nursing workload and staffing challenges at the #health2conf A key point I discussed was the need for healthcare to embrace technological advancements. A standout example? The power of AI. Imagine AI-driven solutions tailored to significantly ease the daily workload for nurses. The possibilities are immense, yet there's a noticeable hesitation in embracing these innovations. It's understandable… venturing into the unknown, especially with technology, can be daunting. But here's where leadership plays a pivotal role. It's time for healthcare leaders to pivot their perspective, to view technology not as a daunting unknown but as an untapped reservoir of solutions. Embracing and creatively leveraging tools like AI can be a game-changer in addressing critical issues like nursing workload. The journey into tech-forward healthcare is not just about adopting new tools… it's about fostering a culture of innovation and openness to change. Let's lead the charge in transforming healthcare, making it more efficient, effective, and empowering for those at its heart - our nurses and healthcare professionals. I applaud individuals such as NurseFusion who highlight the benefits of embracing technology in healthcare. The time for change is now. #HealthTech #Nursing #AIinHealthcare #HealthcareInnovation

This is golden! And comes down to a question to you, the patient: Would you choose to be seen by a stressed out physician🏃♂️ who has no time to talk to you - or a relaxed one 🛀 who has a healthy work/life balance, has slept well and is alert in the interview - and on the top of it in his medical field because he has time for continous education? Which one do you think provides better care - and saves your organization more on expenses e.g. forgotten lab results or mistakes? That's what Leviosa is all about - empowering the healthcare provider by making software that is not a handbrake in his daily routine but a time saving companion. Quality over quantity!
How will physicians and nurses spend any time that AI saves them? In a survey of 640 UK physicians, nurses, and physical therapists, only one in four clinicians reported they’d spend newly freed-up time caring for patients. The others would use the time to complete administrative work, perform continuing education, work on quality improvement, or work less (figure). This is an important counterpoint to promises that AI will make clinicians more productive. Increased productivity does not come simply from freeing up time. It depends on how clinicians use this time. If they don’t spend this time seeing more patients, AI may not boost productivity to the extent imagined. And this should be OK! Many clinicians struggle to keep up with the fast pace and high demands of clinical practice. They want to slow down, not merely switch to another task. Of course, it may not be up to 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒎. Regardless of what 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒚 want, their bosses may direct them to see more patients. Even if their bosses let them choose, there’s a long history of technology that was promised to reduce work, ultimately making us even busier. https://lnkd.in/ghxr3nZW #automation #healthcareai #healthcareonlinkedin
