INCOTERMS : Are standardized international trade rules that define the responsibilities of buyers and sellers for the delivery of goods. They clarify: 1. Who handles transportation, costs, and risks. 2. Where the risk transfers from seller to buyer. # Key Terms: - EXW: Buyer handles all. - FCA, FAS, FOB**: Risk transfers at the point of shipment. - CPT, CIP, CFR, CIF: Seller pays for transport; risk shifts earlier. - DAP, DPU, DDP Seller bears most costs and risks up to delivery. These terms help streamline global trade and prevent misunderstandings. #supply_chain #incoterms #logistics

Choosing the Right Incoterm: A Key to Successful International Trade!! When exporting goods, choosing the correct Incoterm is critical. It defines the responsibilities of the seller and buyer, impacts costs, and determines who bears the risk at various stages of the shipment process. Before deciding on an Incoterm, ask yourself these 3 key questions: Who will cover the transportation, insurance, and duties? Some Incoterms, like CIF or CIP, include transportation and insurance in the seller’s responsibility, while others, like EXW, place these costs entirely on the buyer. At which point does the risk of loss or damage transfer from seller to buyer? Understanding when the risk shifts is critical. With FOB, the risk transfers once goods are on the ship, but with DDP, the seller bears the risk until the goods are delivered to the buyer’s location. Who will arrange the logistics? Some buyers prefer full control over shipping, while others rely on the seller. EXW gives maximum control to the buyer, while CFR places more logistics responsibility on the seller. Choosing the right Incoterm ensures clarity, minimizes unexpected costs, and helps manage risks efficiently in international transactions. Are you asking the right questions when selecting your Incoterm? #ExportManagement #Incoterms #InternationalTrade #Logistics #RiskManagement #GlobalBusiness #ShippingSolutions
