**Did you know who came up with the idea of PICNIC first?** 🌺Well, I got to know the answer when one of my colleagues, in the last activity 'the Googly Round', asked this question during our departmental picnic. 🌺Yesterday, when I went for the picnic with my colleagues, I wasn’t expecting a day I wouldn’t forget easily. We played games, participated in various activities, ate together, and had so much fun. It was a feast I wouldn’t say no to ever. 🌺We got to meet people with whom we were only connected through emails. Putting faces to the email addresses was the highlight for me of that exceptionally invigorating event. 🌺To summarize the elysian day in a passage is a bit difficult. All in all, each and every corner of the venue reverberated with our laughter and the rhythm of our footsteps. 🌺A picnic is a successful way to bring people together. But it’s not the only way. In this learning bite, let’s discuss what other ways we can bring camaraderie to the workplace. 🌺P.S. The answer to the question is that the mention can be found in a 1649 satirical French poem, which features the Frères Pique-nicques, known for visiting friends “armed with bottles and dishes.” Later in the early 1800s, the term and the practice made a hop to Britain. Stretched too thin? Here is how my Thursday went last week: 6:00am 7km 'tempo run' (Honestly the worst part of my day) 8:00am. Prep some copy for filming and board preso 10:00am. Filming at Auckland Business Chamber for the awards evening videos 11:00am. Present a three year brand strategy to the board at Goodfood Group 4:00pm. Check-in at TMC "Unlocking Media for Marketers event" and make sure the Hell Pizza turned up on time, seeing as I'd promised it would be there. (Thanks Queenie Qin!) 6:00pm. Dial in to the Hell Pizza consumer research group remotely with a glass of rose 8:30pm. Steph time That was on top of two preceding nights of research groups, and your bog-standard working week. There have been times where I've had days like this, and it's been an absolute nightmare of stress. Weirdly Thursday went smoothly and I got to all my locations on time. I think this is the beauty of working and doing something you love, instead of hanging on for dear life because someone is paying you a salary or wage just to turn up every day.
