Reflecting on Freedom: What Abraham Lincoln Might Say the Week After July 4th As we reflect on the celebrations of July 4th, it is fitting to consider what our great President Abraham Lincoln might say during this week of remembrance and gratitude. Lincoln, a beacon of wisdom and compassion, would remind us of the enduring principles that define our nation. He would speak of the sacrifices made for our freedom, urging us to honor the legacy of those who fought for our independence and those who strive for equality and justice. Lincoln would emphasize that the true strength of our nation lies in our commitment to liberty and our willingness to stand united in the face of adversity. Lincoln would likely remind us that the promise of America is one of inclusivity and opportunity. He would call upon us to continue the work of building a nation where everyone, regardless of their background, has the chance to pursue their dreams. As we look to the future, let us draw inspiration from Lincoln’s words and deeds. Let us strive to create a more perfect union, where the ideals of freedom, equality, and justice are upheld for all. In the spirit of Lincoln, let us remember that our greatest achievements come when we work together as one nation, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. #justiceandequality #freedomforall #unitedwestand #eduaction

"The first step toward getting somewhere is to decide you are not going to stay where you are." John Pierpont Morgan
America has always been divided as a nation. That’s one of the great freedoms and unique qualities of this country. We aren’t ruled by a singular belief or ideal. The crucial components of that freedom has always been centered around our abilities to work through those differences and find ‘common ground’. But ‘common ground’ requires common sense and common decency. We seem to have lost our way when it comes to these two vital aspects of our American values. During his 1965 SOTU address, President Johnson stated “Though total agreement between the Executive and the Congress is impossible, total respect is important”. The same notion must apply to all Americans. We shouldn’t rely some utopian view, that our political leaders will somehow unite all Americans. In fact, we should never hope to be united…we should only strive. Our divisions are what our democracy is built on. Our differences are what make America great. I hope we can restore our respect for one another despite those divisions and differences…that is where we are broken. We must return to civility and respect for one another…common decency and common sense. If we can’t model these behaviors and teach our children to do the same, all is lost. Happy Independence Day to ALL and God Bless America!

Abraham Lincoln: The President Who Saved the Union and Abolished Slavery Abraham Lincoln, the 16th president of the United States, is widely regarded as one of the greatest leaders in American history. Leading the country through its darkest chapter, the Civil War, Lincoln fought to preserve the Union and ultimately ended the institution of slavery with the Emancipation Proclamation. His speeches, including the iconic Gettysburg Address, continue to resonate as symbols of equality, freedom, and democracy. But his journey to the presidency was fraught with challenges, and his assassination in 1865 left a nation mourning and a legacy that still shapes the United States today. In a time when America was deeply divided, Lincoln’s leadership and determination not only saved the Union but also redefined the nation's values. His vision of a country "conceived in liberty" lives on as debates about civil rights, unity, and leadership remain central to the political landscape. How did Lincoln manage to unite a fractured nation, and what lessons can modern leaders take from his example? #AbrahamLincoln #CivilWar #EmancipationProclamation #GettysburgAddress #AmericanHistory #USPresidents #SlaveryAbolition #LeadershipInCrisis #PreservingTheUnion #HistoricalLegacy Sources: https://lnkd.in/dWRPmdxr https://lnkd.in/d9gwkAdB https://lnkd.in/dAFjh58e abraham lincoln, civil war, emancipation, gettysburg address, american history, 16th president, union preservation, leadership, slavery abolition, historical legacy, united states, assassination, political history, civil rights, equality, democracy, national unity

I saw this yesterday, and I thought about my life. As a child it seemed my life was certain and anchored, and in many ways it was. I had wonderful parents who taught me how to love, to give, to hope, to dream, and they seemed to travel seamlessly through the world, even with the joys and heartbreak of raising my sister, who is developmentally disabled. Life was not perfect, but hope was in abundance. The country was in a positive run. It was about service, the middle class, and education. It was not socialistic, it was still very much a capitalistic country, but with regulations to keep the game fair so everyone could participate. The older I have become, the stranger the trip has become. I do not want to return to the past, I just think we should look at what was ingenious at the time, and try it again. Democracy is serious work. It requires an educated and engaged society. No one person can fix what ails us. This is no time to jump ship and slip into authoritarianism. We should be instead becoming more free to be who we are, to read what we want, to worship freely, and to march for peace and justice. Do not give up on America. Give up on the notion that America will be great when individually we aren't. To be the best, we must be our best. "The liberty of a democracy is not safe if the people tolerated the growth of private power to a point where it becomes stronger than the democratic state itself. That in its essence is fascism: ownership of government by an individual, by a group, or any controlling private power." - Franklin D. Roosevelt

Day 2/60. H1B. I apologize to you on behalf of forefathers of America. I know human beings lose track of morals and ethics. This happens in power and greed. This happens when a few people control the future of humanity and human rights. And these people put profits over morality. I apologize to you on the current state of America. On behalf of American forefathers. So let me bring some insights for you from the US Constitution. It reads clearly at the start. Even if you can’t see the ocean, the sun, the stars, you can still look upto this constitution for the guiding light. It also says by when you are enough American to represent America. It’s not 100 years. It’s 8 years. One human being who moves to America can get citizenship in 1 year in America. And after living for 7 years they can represent America in the House of Representatives. Living for 8 years in America is enough to embody the American spirit. If you have been living in America for 8+ years legally, you should have equal rights. I didn’t define the rules of the game. Forefathers of America did. Now go live your dreams. You are the future. You are the talent. Have a beautiful day in paradise, let’s live today, it’s not forever! 😘🥰💕💜 #immigrant #india #america

Is the American dream of liberty dying a slow death? One thing that doesn’t inspire hope: The public's misunderstanding of government's nature. It fuels unchecked political power, which breeds corruption and tyranny. Despite the U.S.'s foundational principles, a Leviathan state has taken shape. The framers' vision of a constitutionally bound government is a distant memory. Judeo-Christian values and Enlightenment thought championed individual rights. It's wisdom that seems all but forgotten. Madison and Jefferson's insights on the need for constitutional constraints remain alarmingly relevant. Progressive agendas have morphed the state into a new deity of sorts. It’s moved us further away from the founders' ideals and closer to a socialist framework. With the administrative state's expansion, personal freedoms shrink. This raises a serious question: Is a return to foundational principles achievable – or is Leviathan's rise irreversible?
