Most brands only show up for Pride Month. Did you know that true commitment means being inclusive all year? Brands like Levi’s lead the way in year-round LGBTQ+ support. Commitment Beyond Pride It's about integrating LGBTQ+ inclusive elements into your brand daily, not just in June. Levi’s is a shining example. They support LGBTQ+ causes throughout the year, not just during Pride Month. Here are a few specific ways brands can show year-round commitment: 1. Inclusive Policies: Ensure your company policies protect and support LGBTQ+ employees and customers at all times. 2. Ongoing Education: Provide regular training on LGBTQ+ issues for all employees. 3. Year-Round Campaigns: Run campaigns that highlight LGBTQ+ stories and voices beyond Pride Month. 4. Community Engagement: Partner with LGBTQ+ organizations for events and initiatives throughout the year. True commitment means more than rainbow logos in June. It's about lasting change.

Pride Month is taking a different tone this year with many brands choosing whispers over shouts in their celebrations 🌈🤫. But why the subtle shift in content and marketing strategy? It's not about doing less; it's about striving for more authentic connections and support for the LGBTQ+ communities. This move towards quieter celebrations aims to avoid the backlash of commercialization and the pitfalls of appropriation, emphasizing actions that speak louder than just seasonal campaigns. Experts and community members alike notice this trend, pointing out that genuine allyship doesn't end with June. It's about integrating this support into the very fabric of a brand's ethos, ensuring that advocacy and representation are not just annual checkmarks but sustained efforts. So, while the flashy parades of brand logos in rainbow colors might be less prevalent, the work behind the scenes—be it through partnerships with LGBTQ+ organizations, inclusive policies, or spotlighting queer voices—has ramped up. This evolution in advertising strategies reflects a deeper understanding and respect for the nuances of pride, aiming to celebrate and support the LGBTQ+ community year-round, not just for a month. #PrideMonth #AuthenticAllyship #InclusiveMarketing #BrandEvolution

As advocates for corporate social responsibility with a diverse team, we strive for justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion because they're essential values. However, effectively communicating these values can be challenging for companies particularly during LGBTQ+ Pride Month when companies unveil rainbow-themed products and rebranding efforts. The phenomenon of "rainbow washing" has led to skepticism towards brands that seem to capitalize on the LGBTQ+ community, often resulting in fumbled Pride messaging or misaligned values. To ensure authenticity and alignment, our team uses 4 strategies to avoid rainbow washing, not only during Pride Month but every month: https://loom.ly/RaZ7KC4

As we celebrate diversity, inclusion, and love, let’s take a moment to reflect on the progress we’ve made and the work that lies ahead. Pride Month is a time to honor the LGBTQ+ community, recognize their resilience, and advocate for equality. 🌟 Why Pride Matters: Pride commemorates the Stonewall Uprising of 1969, a pivotal moment in LGBTQ+ history when brave individuals stood up against discrimination. It’s a reminder that visibility matters. By being our authentic selves, we empower others to do the same. Pride fosters acceptance, understanding, and allyship. Let’s continue to learn, listen, and amplify queer voices. 🌻 How Can You Show Support? Educate yourself: Learn about LGBTQ+ history, challenges, and achievements. Be an ally: Use your privilege to uplift marginalized voices and advocate for change. Celebrate love: Whether you identify as LGBTQ+ or an ally, love knows no boundaries. 🌈 At ASK Energy, Inc., we stand with the LGBTQ+ community. Our commitment to diversity and inclusion extends beyond Pride Month. Let’s create a world where everyone feels seen, heard, and valued. #PrideMonth #LoveIsLove #InclusionMatters

New research from the Human Rights Campaign shows that over 75.7% of LGBTQ+ adults would view companies less favourably if they step back from their diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) efforts, with 80.1% even considering a boycott. The data highlights the economic impact of the LGBTQ+ community, with a spending power of $1.4 trillion, on businesses that fail to support DEI initiatives. Companies that remain committed to inclusion are more likely to retain customers and employees. For more information, see the full report here. https://lnkd.in/epB8TwNt

Happy Pride Month! 🏳️🌈 As eCommerce brands promote pride lines and campaigns, it's crucial to address the authenticity of these efforts. Our LGBTQ+ team members came up with a few ways to ensure your pride marketing is impactful: 1️⃣ Educate Your Audience: Use your platform to share LGBTQ+ history, issues, and achievements. Promote understanding and acceptance through informative content and stories. 2️⃣ Create Inclusive Campaigns: Celebrate diversity with inclusive marketing campaigns. Feature diverse imagery, inclusive language, and LGBTQ+ individuals in your ads. 3️⃣ Year-Round Support: Support LGBTQ+ communities beyond Pride Month. Implement inclusive policies, support LGBTQ+ causes year-round, and advocate for equality and diversity. June is a time to celebrate love, diversity, and the progress made towards equality. It's also a time to reflect on the ongoing struggles faced by the LGBTQ+ community and the importance of continuing to advocate for acceptance and inclusion. #PrideMonth #InclusiveMarketing #AuthenticMarketing

Director of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion || PFIP Board Advisor || Employee Experience & Talent Services Thought Leader || Certified Culture Design Thinker || Agile Leader
This time 2 years ago, I was leading my then company's efforts to take part in the 2023 Community Business LGBTQ+ Index. As a global company, we held records in global indexes like the Human Rights Campaign's Corporate Equality Index and Workplace Pride's Global Benchmark. Recognizing the need for a local and nuanced approach, we took part in Community Business' efforts to assess, progress and promote efforts towards LGBTQ+ Inclusion locally through the Hongkong and Singapore index. The activity was extremely helpful to help define what local inclusion really looks like. While global policies and programs are beneficial to the community, local visibility, leadership and efforts are equally, if not are more important. So if your company is taking part in these global indexes, consider participating in this local index too and even get the opportunity to support small and medium businesses in their inclusion journey. #lgbtq #index #community #diversityandinclusionAP #inclusiveAP #hongkong #singapore #communitybusiness

With the conclusion of the Pride month, quite a few ad campaigns will come to an end and many marketing strategies will revert to their old self. However, as pointed out by the latest #ThinkWithGoogle blog, there exist brands which have successfully risen above performativity and fostered a genuine connection with marginalised groups including the LGBTQ+ community through inclusive advertising. Bausch + Lomb, for instance, made their creative process community-led to ensure genuine inclusivity and representation. This included highlighting the love stories of those within the LGBTQ+ community and as a result, providing a platform to their voice. One common strand that connects all brands that have risen above performative allyship to foster a genuine connection with marginalised groups is their decision to go above and beyond in their marketing efforts without the fear of backlash. As our society progresses and times change, these are the brands that will be remembered for their efforts in inclusive advertising. Read more about it here - https://lnkd.in/gRTw3vvi
