Somebody asks the standard, "So, what do you do?" You could respond with your job title. Or you could respond with something more significant. First, a critical question: When you distill it down to the core, what sort of impact does your work have (both for you & for others)? You're not a software engineer, you're maintaining life saving and life upgrading systems. You're not just a lawyer, you are reintroducing justice to your client's world. You're not simply a veterinarian, you're restoring play time & companionship to a family. You're not just a sales rep, you're offering a more valuable approach in an upright manner. So, what does your work mean to you, your clients, and the world around you? You're providing more than a job title.

My career has 3 weird, distinct phases: Phase I 2003: Hired in pharma 2004: Fired 2004: Hired in pharma 2007: Fired 2007: Hired in med device 2009: Fired Phase II 2009: Hired in Tech 2010: Promoted to manager 2011: Promoted to Director 2013: Promoted to work for CEO 2015: Hired as VP of Sales 2018; Become CRO 2019: Quit Phase III 2019: Started a business 2019: $534k in revenue 2020: $413k in revenue 2021: $635k in revenue 2022: $1.73M in revenue 2023: $2.22M in revenue 2024: $3.88M in revenue (proj.) Phase III started when I began sharing my knowledge daily here on LinkedIn. So, if you're lost, consider building your skills and knowledge. Then, get out there and *share* what you're learning on LinkedIn. Here's your playbook: https://lnkd.in/ejnWqYPJ Hope to see you sharing more and more.

Sales Development Representative | Outbound Outreach and Pipeline Generation Expert | Quota Crusher | Cold Calling | Sales Acceleration | Pickleball Athlete
On-boarding here at Dot Compliance. ⚕ To tell you a little more about how the process went before and now. 🔎 When I was looking for my next company, I actually accepted and started working for another company, who were in very early stages but with great people in charge. This was known to my current Boss, who was not surprised 😏 🕦 During that time, there was chain of events that delayed the decision and made me very anxious to be honest. 👻 Before all this, it was even worse, ghosted, ignored or just verbal offers that never happen. 💔 I was feeling like it was happening again. I'm sure this is a normal thing now, in all kinds of positions, either sales, engineering, medical, etc. Now, please visit my profile and let's endorse each others skills and strike a convo! Here I am during my new obsession/hobby 😅, Pickleball! Who is with me?🥒 #salestrategy #salesdevelopment #humanconnector

SVP🔹Strategy/Sales/Marketing/CS🔹SaaS B2B Healthcare🔹AI Enthusiast🔹Pavilion DFW Co-Chair🔹GTM Advisor 🔹Speaker & Future Author 📚☕️🐾
How did you end up in Sales? To be honest, it wasn't my first choice, second or third choice. In fact, it wasn't on my radar at all! I went to university to be a Clinical Lab Scientist with an Advanced Research Degree. Moonlighted in the morgue in my extra hours because I wanted to be a forensic pathologist. This is the reason why my mom banned me from talking about what I did for fun at the dinner table! 🤣 Many people I respected from my husband to my pathology/doctor mentors encouraged me to think about the commercial side of healthcare. And I took a leap of faith. Stepped down from a Director role in a lab and many of my colleagues thought I was crazy. And I took an individual contributor role at a start up in North Texas.......that was step down in title and pay. I bet on myself because I felt I would regret it if I didn't try and besides my fallback was I could always go back to the lab or continue the pathologist path. I was fortunate to have a door open where I knew how to think and talk like the ICP...yep, you guessed it. I was selling to pathologists and doctors. I brought my science background and training to the role.... ✔ document everything ✔ create processes and frameworks ✔ quality improvement - routinely review and iterate ✔ data driven - look for patterns to help with iterating ✔ curiosity And treated every interaction like a conversation I would have before I took the role. That first year, I blew the revenue target out of the water by almost 2.5X and was asked to lead a team. I've never looked back. I've never regretted my decision. The advice I gave to the women in the FireSide Chat yesterday .... ✔ don't let anyone else define your success or happiness ✔ own your journey - no one tells your story better than you ✔ know your worth And I should have added surround yourself with people who support you and help you be a better version of yourself. What advice would you give your younger self? #sales #gtm #leadership
