Incredible insights in this video! Bullying has such a severe impact on children's mental health making it crucial to implement prevention techniques and healthy coping mechanisms for those affected. In fact, it’s impact on mental health is so striking that the NCBI found that children and adolescents who experience bullying face a 2.77 times higher risk of depression compared to those who do not. In fact, even those who engage in bullying behavior themselves face a 1.73 times higher risk of depression. These statistics highlight the urgent need for effective strategies to tackle bullying and its harmful effects on mental well-being. PSA for whoever needs to hear it: young people can have strokes, too. It's imperative to stay vigilant regarding stroke alerts and provider notifications regardless of the patient's age. There's nothing in the Cincinnati Prehospital Stroke Scale, BE-FAST, or NIHSS that stipulates stroke alerts must be in a specific age range. 🔹️Infants have strokes. 🔹️Kids have strokes. 🔹️Adolescents have strokes. 🔹️Thirty-year olds have strokes. 🔹️Grandma and Grandpa have strokes. 🔹️People who use illegal substances have strokes. 🔹️Those with high ED use (frequent flyers) have strokes. 🔹️People without homes have strokes. 🔹️People who exhibit emotion loudly have strokes. Catch my drift? Maintaining neutral, unbiased assessments are critical to ensure each patient receives the right care at the right time. Harboring bias only harms our patients. Disagreeing with a biased provider? Initiate that chain of command, because nurses are patient advocates. 🔸️Picture for interesting facts about pediatric strokes. #nurse #ernurse #expert #legalexpert #bias #law #lawyer #attorney #medmallaw #medmallawyer #personalinjurylaw #wrongfuldeath #defenselaw #defenseattorney #stroke #emergencydepartment #emergencyroom #nihss #befast #patientadvocate #cincinnatistrokescale #frequentflyers #sud
