At this year’s KubeCon, Julian Fischer, CEO of anynines, discussed the challenges and solutions related to managing Kubernetes clusters and highlighted the shift from Ops-focused Kubernetes usage to application developer experiences, emphasizing the need for tools like Klutch that provide on-demand self-service for database management. This year’s KubeCon+CloudNativeCon hosted in Salt Lake City, Utah, was special for anynines, a cloud automation company with focus on data service automation, Kubernetes and Cloud Foundry Foundation. The company showcased its first open-source project called Klutch, designed to streamline data service management across multiple Kubernetes clusters. anynines plans to contribute Klutch to the Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF) as a sandbox project.

It's hard for me to debug issues in my distributed system, there are so many microservices that could cause this problem... 😩 Having a distributed system can make it hard to debug and identify issues. If the observability of your systems is insufficient, you might spend too much time identifying and debugging issues in your systems. This directly increases the cost to operate the system. 💸 Make sure you instrument your application and export the telemetry data. It's super important to set up distributed tracing, metric and observability! Just turn it on before you need it. Connecting that request all the way from the frontend, all the way through the API gateway and one or more backend services.
