The gig economy is growing three times faster than the overall U.S. workforce, transforming what was once considered a 'side hustle' into a mainstream way of working. At Neowork, our mission is to help small Kiwi businesses embrace this shift by keeping workflows local, instead of outsourcing overseas. Follow us along Neowork.co.nz as we pioneer this new approach to work. #communitybuilding #ondemandservices #hybridwork #freelance

We Embrace the "GIG", The "Side Hustle" the part time, the flexible full-time, hybrid remote, virtual entrepreneur. **I NEED YOU, THEM, ANYONE WHO YOU THINK MIGHT BE INTERESTED. ** I AM ASKING FOR YOUR HELP :) We are growing rapidly across the country and are looking for good people. It's not a get rich quick scheme, we aren't going to hound you to call friends and family, or pull out your phone. We Don't Do LEADS - NO BUYING LEADS OR COLD CALLS. NON-CAPTIVE We have a market waiting for you. We are looking for qualified insurance agents who actually care about people or people who care about people that we can train. The shift from trendy buzzword to a legitimate workforce model started before COVID-19, but the pandemic really accelerated it. Research shows that by 2027, 86.5 million people will be freelancing in the United States. That’s more than 50% of the total U.S. workforce. These workers are passionate and skilled, and they add value within your budget and time frame. In Paro’s network, for example, we have some customers using freelancers for just 10 hours a week, even if they’ve been partnered together for over two years. In this new world of work, more people will continue to test and embrace careers as independent contractors for a number of reasons, including: Flexibility: Pursuing work on their own terms, reimagining the way they work, having the autonomy to decide who to work with, when they want, where they want. More meaningful work: Growing and developing their own careers doing work they are interested in and passionate about (not the same thing every day) Work-life balance: Escaping the 9-5 grind, setting their own hours, prioritizing wellbeing https://lnkd.in/gKkh9V_H

The way we work has changed over the years. Fewer and fewer on-site jobs are out there for a lot of practices, and companies are looking to hire freelancers, remote workers, or automate tasks. People have been forced to adapt to this new change as a lot of people have forged a career path that relies on remote working. There are benefits to this as people can seek jobs in other countries, some even in another continent, and work comfortably from their home, but it also poses risks like income instability for freelancers and lack of work benefits like insurance and pension. What are your thoughts on this? Is this a sustainable career path or a temporary solution? Feel free to share your opinions below. #gigeconomy #freelance #flexiblework #entrepreneurship #futureofwork

Imagine a world where your office is anywhere and your boss changes with each job 😊, Welcome to the gig economy, where flexibility reigns, but stability and benefits are often elusive!!! I believe you often hear people make statements like I secured the gig, or I almost got that gig, or I have a few gigs I am working on…… 🤗 It's the #gigeconomy ! An economy with a labor market where temporary, flexible jobs are common, and companies hire independent contractors or freelancers instead of full-time employees. It runs through online platforms like Uber,Fiverr, etc connecting gig workers with businesses or individuals needing peculiar services. Popular in industries like ride-sharing, freelance writing, and tech. This economy thrives on flexibility, allowing workers to choose when and where they work (I e. individuals get to monetize their skills independently) and ensure cost savings for companies.( Isn't this amazing 🤔😊) However, gig workers lack traditional employee benefits like healthcare, job security and irregular incomes, making it a trade-off between freedom and stability, hence taking a backseat to opportunity and self-management. Founder, CEO at Surton | Cohost of the Tailored Tech Talk Podcast | I help startups and scaleups make engineering choices they won't regret.
I've been cautious about sharing this because it’s my secret sauce. But here goes nothing. I credit a big part of Surton's success to keeping my finger on the pulse of employment trends. Don’t worry, I'm not here to preach about work-from-home vs. office. Because truthfully, it doesn't matter what I think. It matters what the people I want to hire think. And there are 2 major trends I've observed—and leaned into: 1. Coming out of COVID, everybody wants a choice in where they work. Some people love the idea of their commute and going to the office every so often. But most want at least the option to work remotely. By 2009 my first company was already 100% remote. That was completely innovative at that point. Nobody was doing that. So I can hire with no restrictions. Geography doesn't matter. Even full-time employment doesn't matter. I can hire people as contractors, freelancers, part-time or full-time—whatever works best. 2. People want to work for themselves. This is mainly an extension of the gig economy, but most people aren't trying to build an empire. They just want to be their own boss. And they don't want to be anyone else's boss. But most technical freelancers struggle to market and sell themselves and often the work is volatile. So I've built a symbiotic relationship where we can bring in super-talented freelancers ad hoc and they can charge their usual rate without having to do or pay for any sales or marketing. And it must be working, because everyone is sticking around for the long-haul and telling their friends. There you have it. My secret sauce. All I do is keep my eye on the trends and put the wind at my back.

As we step into 2024, the future of work sees amazing adaptations. Independent professionals shape our way of working and bolster the economy, even as we face uncertainties in the market. Amid workforce fluctuations, particularly in tech, and talk of impending recession, independent professionals and freelancers display exceptional resilience. Their adaptability and varied income streams allow them to adeptly navigate changing market conditions. Companies have started acknowledging the value of collaborating with independent talent, which promotes innovation and helps them adapt to disruptions. Despite hiring freezes and reductions, the freelancer workforce grows, satisfying a demand for more strategic integration of independent professionals into conventional corporate structures. 2024 brings with it a new batch of trailblazers - Generation Z. They are already influencing how we approach work with their diversity, entrepreneurial spirit, and disregard for traditional career trajectories. For the burgeoning economy, this influx of fresh, innovative talent signals an accelerated transformation of our work environments. Another key player in the current work landscape is Artificial Intelligence
