The Focus on NAEP, The Nation's Report Card report on using process data for examining student efficiency in Technology sand Engineering Literacy (TEL) assessments was published on the AIR website. I had the opportunity to author this study during my time at American Institutes for Research as a report sponsored by NCES. This study explores how data collected from digitally based assessments can be used to investigate digital familiarity and efficiency. The Focus on NAEP series provides insightful analyses of key findings from NAEP, along with examinations of its development and implementation. These articles cater to both technical and non-technical audiences, helping the public to interpret and understand NAEP assessment results and keeping education stakeholders informed. Dangers of the K-12 Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS). "FACT #1: Your State is one of 49 that has largely adopted the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS). [Florida is the lone holdout.] FACT #2: The NGSS is a Progressive set of standards that has numerous major flaws (e.g., it doesn’t teach Critical Thinking, it has scrapped the Scientific Method, etc., etc.) [See here, page six, for ten major issues.] FACT #3: Let’s assume that you (and allies) are requesting that your State correct at least two of these serious NGSS errors — Critical Thinking and the Scientific Method omissions." A bit late as I'm just back from my hols, but my May topic of the month - how to get professionally qualified if you are suitably experienced, but your academic base doesn't quite meet the required level, and you don't wish to go back to college/university.... well for EngTech MICE you will just need to have a slightly longer professional review interview; for IEng MICE and CEng MICE there is the Technical Report Route, or Experiential Learning (EL) or the Further Learning Exam (FLE) (both EL and FLE also require you to formally complete IPD and then apply for the professional review).
