Garlic has been used to treat bacterial, fungal and parasitic infections for centuries. Garlic, scientifically known as Allium sativum, is one of the oldest plants in the world. It is used as a spice as well as a medicine because of its many benefits to human health and wellbeing. Garlic infused oils have also been used to treat middle ear infections and you can even make your own! Peel and crush one clove garlic Warm 2 tbsp high quality olive oil and garlic slowly on low heat until fragrant (~20 minutes) Cool the mixture to room temperature Strain the garlic from the oil and place 2-3 drops in each ear as directed by your practitioner Make a new batch every 24 hours When my husband was in the hospital, I ate whole garlic cloves every day to stay healthy and I did! Interesting new #fertility research! A research team from Kumamoto University has discovered that prostaglandin receptors, specifically DP and EP4, in the uterus play a key role in promoting embryo implantation by enhancing decidualization, a critical process for pregnancy. This finding opens new avenues for infertility treatments by developing drugs that target these receptors to assist women with implantation challenges. The discovery suggests that targeting these prostaglandin pathways could significantly improve fertility outcomes. For more details, see the full study: https://lnkd.in/eewYDf82 It has me thinking about how nutrition and lifestyle factors can influence prostaglandin receptor activity through various mechanisms related to inflammation, epigenetics, and metabolic pathways. Antioxidants and omega-3 fatty acids have both been shown to modulate these pathways, potentially influencing prostaglandin receptors and reducing inflammation. Then, you have alcohol and smoking, which can impair prostaglandin pathways. In fact, other research has shown that this is related to implantation problems.

The study aimed to describe the effectiveness of a COVID-19 prevention and control (CPC) program in a long-term care facility.   Methods: A CPC program, including social isolation, active symptoms screening for all residents and staff, SARS-CoV-2 testing for symptomatic individuals, droplet and contact isolation measures for asymptomatic residents, confinement of the unit and clinical care in a separate unit for patients, was implemented in a long-term care facility with two geriatrics and two psychiatric units, with aa total of 300 beds.
