🤔 Does human performance optimization change in a joint environment? The range of missions US military forces must prepare for has greatly expanded, with the joint force now being central to the successful execution of future missions, ranging from large scale combat operations to MOOTW. Variations in the type of forces involved, combat environments, and CONOPS will vary based on COCOM….therefore human performance efforts may require a nontraditional approach considering the diverse capabilities that a Joint Combatant Commander will have at their disposal. Army’s elite special forces unit to be overhauled in major revamp Secretive Army Ranger Wing is getting a new name, more personnel and a revamped command structure By Conor Gallagher / The Irish Times The Army Ranger Wing (ARW), the most elite and secretive unit of the Defence Forces, is to undertake its largest expansion and restructuring in its 43-year history. The most visible change will be a new name: Ireland Special Operations Force or IRL-SOF for short. But behind the scenes it is understood that there will be dramatic changes to its command-and-control structure, making it a central part of military decision making and, as a result, more likely to be deployed on missions on and off island. The changes mirror those in other western militaries which have increased the size of their special operations forces while also granting them more autonomy and status. The Swedish Army, or Svenska Armén, is the land force of the Swedish Armed Forces, with roots tracing back to the Swedish War of Liberation in 1521. It transitioned from a conscription-based system to a professional force, with around 50,000 soldiers currently in service. The army comprises multiple regiments, including mechanized infantry and support battalions, organized for rapid deployment. Since 2017, conscription has been reinstated to address personnel needs, with plans to increase the number of conscripts significantly by 2035.
