Happy #EarthDay! 🌿 To celebrate, we will be dedicating this channel to showcase our environmental efforts during #EarthWeek. Starting with our own 🌍 facilities! For example: 💡 By the end of the first half of 2024, our Center of Competence in Monschau will have converted all lighting in the manufacturing halls to LED – which will mean an annual reduction of approx. 39,000 kg CO2 emissions a year.   💡 Our Center of Competence in Filderstadt is also replacing the lighting in its production halls and offices with LED lighting. A modern hall luminaire can save 80% energy per luminaire. Overall, we expect to reduce CO2 emissions by approx. 51,000 kg per year, a reduction of more than 38% compared to the old lighting system. ☀️ Our parking lot in Monschau will get a photovoltaic system in 2024. Our 250 kWp PV system will yield 250,000 kWh per year, which corresponds to an annual CO2 saving of approximately 108 tons. 🛺 Ecoclean Czech is replacing diesel forklifts with emission-free electric forklifts. In addition, the windows in the office area have been replaced to provide better insulation and improve the efficiency of the heating systems during the cold months. Brabrand is one of Aarhus 6 districts located to the west of the city centre. The area has undergone a major transformation as some buildings were demolished, others remodelled and repurposed, and new ones constructed. In recent years, the district benefited from a new park, library, sports and cultural venues. There are plans to build a new light rail station that would connect Brabrand with other districts of the Aarhus metropolitan area. Besides #urbanregeneration, the district is witnessing a lot of #socialinnovation at grassroot level. One example is Sol over Brabrand (Sun over Brabrand). The local association wants to establish an energy community where families, companies and public institutions will trade green electricity produced from rooftop solar power.
