This month, we’re proud to be celebrating 100 years of powering our communities. We’ve come a long way together since 1924. From the humble beginnings of a small lines company in Hawke’s Bay, Unison is now a global group of specialist electricity companies with electricity networks in Taupō and Rotorua and a vision to lead a sustainable energy future. As part of our 100-year celebrations, we wanted a logo that would showcase our journey - a visual representation of our past, present, and future. Our 100-year logo is a fusion of the old and the new, drawing inspiration from our past and current branding, subtly acknowledging our roots while also reflecting Unison as it is today, a forward-thinking, innovative energy distributor. As we celebrate our 100-year anniversary, we're reminded of the incredible journey we've experienced. From the Hawke’s Bay Electric Power Board and Hawke's Bay Power, to Hawke’s Bay Network and Unison, every name change and every logo redesign have been a part of our story. But more important than the changes in our name or our logo, are the values that have guided us throughout these years. (https://lnkd.in/dm4P4MNy) In what capacity will you be volunteering? ☀️ As an Observer and an Assistant Scrutineer, I will work alongside the Head of Scrutineering to assist with whatever tasks are required. Where are you joining us from (which country)? 🌍 I am joining the event from Estonia, Europe. Which previous solar car events have you been a part of? 📆 I have participated in #SolarChallengeMorocco 2021 and Bridgestone World Solar Challenge 2023. What are you most excited about for in this year’s #SasolSolarChallenge? 🏁 I have a completely new role in the event, as I will not be competing this time around. I am looking forward to what it will be like to see a whole new side to the event. What are your greatest strengths? 💪 I can solve problems and fix almost anything. What are you most passionate about? 🙌 I'm fond of dirt bikes; I can talk for hours about their settings, spare parts, track riding techniques, and other things. Of course, I also love to ride dirt bikes. Out of my three dirt bikes, two are used for competition riding. If you were a topping on a pizza, what would you be and why? 🍕 I would go with cheese, which is a must-have topping on pizza. #Update from our construction site in #Wolfurt, Austria 🚧🎬 We are building a modern IT and logistics centre that combines #innovation and sustainability. Thanks to the compact construction method, we are making the most of the space: a logistics warehouse with an office building above and a 34-meter-high high-bay #warehouse with space for 68,000 pallets are taking shape. Today, Oct. 14, is International E-Waste Day. This year's theme is "Join the E-Waste Hunt - Retrieve, Recycle, and Revive!" The goal is to encourage people to search for and recycle unused or broken electronics that may be hiding in their homes and offices. Here at REMADE, we fund e-waste R&D projects to ensure they're designed for disassembly right from the start, more easily reused and remanufactured, and recycled.
