What a kick seeing how we’ve evolved from hosting an expo in a tent! Reflecting on that humble beginning in Cobar 12 years ago, The realisation hit that even back then, without all the technologies, fanfare, and fancy venues, Sullivan's was leading the way. Our first Expo in 2012 may not have been extravagant, but it achieved exactly what it set out to do: bring industry professionals together, showcase innovative solutions, and build lasting relationships. Fast forward to today, our Expo has transformed into a premier event, highlighting the latest innovations and solutions for the mining, rail, agriculture, construction, and engineering sectors. What began as a modest gathering in a paddock has become a cornerstone event in our industry calendar, reflecting our commitment to excellence and innovation. Despite our growth and the advancements in technology and event production, one thing remains unchanged: our dedication to being a trusted partner, providing unparalleled expertise and personalised service. Our success story is built on strong relationships, deep industry knowledge, and an unwavering commitment to meeting and exceeding our clients' needs. Looking back, it's clear that our foundation was solid, and it’s that same foundation that continues to support our progress today. Here’s to many more years of growth, innovation, and partnership, as we continue to lead the way in industrial solutions and services

See you there! I'll be presenting our most recent work to implement pre-approved building programs, and I'll be teaching small-scale housing development nuts and bolts at the Strong Towns National Gathering happening the first half of the week with fellow faculty of the Incremental Development Alliance. Sometimes I get asked why I go to CNU every year. It's a simple answer: the collegiality. I go to lots of conferences and CNU stands out. Every presenter, organizer, and attendee is approachable. The conversations in the hallways and happy hours are gold, and I can always find a session where I learn something brand new. My all time favorite session was a report from psychologists. They equipped pedestrians and drivers with headgear to track eye movements and level of excitement/anxiety. They put those two things together to scientifically assess what components of our streets cause us happiness or stress. It was so validating and fascinating to finally see proof for the best practices urban designers work so hard to advocate. Who should go? Of course planners, but also engineers, electeds and appointeds, main street directors, etc. But, don't go if you think things are basically working the way they are. If that's you, you're gonna have a bad time. This is an organization with an obsession for continuous improvement and collegiate debate.
