Become so good at Tableau that you don't need me • Founder @ Next-Level Tableau • Tableau Visionary Hall of Fame • DataIQ Top 100 Most Influential People in Data • Author & Speaker
I spent weeks working on my best piece of analysis ever. It was a flop. Here's what I learned. 1. The topic has to be interesting to the audience, not only me. 2. The story has to be presented in an interesting way that holds attentions. 3. The visualization should invite interactivity from the user so they can find their own insights. 4. No matter how much time you spend on something, the law of diminishing returns will eventually win. What do you think of this analysis? What can I do to make it more interesting and engaging? Using data to determine a writing piece’s success? Cool. Know what’s cooler? ⇣ Combine that data with self reflection. I ask myself: ➙ I like my piece because ____. ➙ It resonated with the audience because ____. ➙ Something I could improve or do differently is ___. ➙ My goal for next time is ___. Data is an ally. Self reflection is too. When I combine them? I’m unstoppable. ♡ #datadriven #selfreflection #writingprocess

Think of it as tuning out the static to hear the real music. 🎶 Here’s why they’re powerful: 💡 𝐂𝐥𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐲: They help you focus on significant shifts in data, not just everyday fluctuations. 📈 𝐃𝐚𝐭𝐚-𝐃𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐧: Decision-making becomes about trends, not one-off spikes. ✅ 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐥: Keep a pulse on process stability and efficiency without the guesswork. Stop reacting to noise and start listening to what the data really tells you. 🎧 Spotting real trends and signals in your process is what this book is all about. Want to learn more about PBC, a highly recommended read from our side: 𝑀𝑒𝑎𝑠𝑢𝑟𝑒𝑠 𝑜𝑓 𝑆𝑢𝑐𝑐𝑒𝑠𝑠 by Mark Graban.
