Hard truth: If you don’t take your content marketing seriously, you will get zero results, not just lower results. No, you don't need the latest AI tool, a low-quality content farm, or colleague with time on their hands who wants to try writing. Take the hiring process seriously, or work with a media partner. You'll accomplish 100x more by hiring great writers or working with an expert media partner who knows your industry.

Career Coach & Job Search Strategist | Working with professionals on changing careers, resume writing, LinkedIn optimization, interview prep, job search strategy and more!
I love this hiring manager's perspective. I would add two more things to the list to stand out among a big crowd like this: 1. Show that you understand the need/problem of the role. Be able to answer, why are they hiring for this position? 2. What are you uniquely going to bring into this role? When you have 1500 applicants, they will all start to blend together. When you highlight your unique value proposition, you automatically stand out. #careercoach #jobsearch #standout
Last year, we had 1,500 people apply to be a Content Writer at Buffer. After reviewing so many applications (yes, our team looked at each one!), I wrote an article with more information about what our team was looking for. The advice is still applicable for the Social Media Manager role I'm hiring for now; it included: - Make sure your application is complete: don't skip questions unless they are optional - Follow the guidelines in the application: if we ask for two links, give us two links - Be careful with how you use AI, so it still sounds like a person wrote the application - Be familiar with Buffer before you apply — we really do look for people who use the product and know our company I'll include the whole post in the comments. Let me know if you have any questions about the Senior Social Media Manager application process. Once we close down the role, I might write another blog post. #Hiring #RemoteJobs

I want to help you create the marketing content and strategies that will engage the customers you are built to serve. | 10+ years B2B tech experience.
Does anybody else read "rockstar writer" in a job description and think, "Please shut up. Please talk like a normal human being"? Is the hiring manager getting on video calls and asking, "BUT ARE YOU A ROCKSTAR WRITER??" Of course not. Because that would be thoroughly embarrassing. And who "thrives on creating personalized content"? Can we treat people like professionals? You know, like people who are dedicated to their craft and excel at it for that reason. A solid marketing professional doesn't thrive on creating effective emails. They just do it because they know how and have improved their craft over years and years of work. P.S. -- The company website for this job is full of the typical value prop nonsense about driving measurable results and seamlessly connecting tech and data. Is that how rockstars write? #jobdescriptions #rockstars

#lookingforwork #contentwriter Hi, I am an oldie in this field. You may ask, 'then why look for work?' Well, I was working with a client for 4+ years, and they switched to AI content. Timing though (with recent Google’s update, Yikes!). Upside of hiring me: I *would* call myself a technical content writer. I can write blogs, how-to, and product reviews/descriptions. I call write on almost every niche, but I refrain from business, finance and crypto (don’t understand this currency even one bit!) I have worked with clients managing, planning, and strategizing complete web content. Content planning, keyword research, and on-page SEO knowledge are a bonus. I have some names in the industry who can vouch for my work and the stress-free experience I bring when you hire me. Downside: I will chew your brain off with my questions. But this is the case for the first two blogs, once I get the tone and deliverables you need, I will let you be. Ask for a resume if interested.

If you have a content opening on your team, you should immediately hire Bobby. If you don't have a content opening on your team, you should immediately make one, and then hire Bobby.
Morning! If you're looking for the kind of content writer who boosted traffic to the last blog he worked for by over 630%, I'm the guy, and good news, I'm available for hire. Alright, I've officially hit the LinkedIn-required amount of self-braggery. I'm sure you have, too. I am a content writer and I'm back on the market for full-time, part-time, and contract gigs. Industries and topics include: marketing (experiential, integrated, social), SaaS, collaborative tech, cloud services, WordPress, graphic design strategies, remote work, management strategies, Fintech, wellness strategies, Google, retail, medical computers, healthcare, IT, real estate, cyber security, and more. I can write serious, formal, casual, funny, a-little-bit-too-funny, and Country-Western. Blogs, whitepapers, ebooks, newsletters, I've done it all. Reach out to me and I can send you a link to my work. Thanks again!
