Digital fashion. Metahuman. Unreal Engine. All real-time. But this is barebones high street style. No frills. Is it even possible? Most digi fashion content tends to lean heavily on fantasy and the impossible because that's the great benefit of being digital. At BasedAF we're obsessed with relatability and authenticity when it comes to digital characters. This was a challenge to see if we could create the feeling of a high street brand shoot but fully in real-time. It's just the simple little things in the performance but you also need to optimize the studio and lighting so it favors the clothing and the facial performance. Here I'm wearing RTFKT but we've done some bonkers shoots now with digital fashion. It's kind of amazing what you can do. Our thesis: that wearables might connect for people if you make the access point really relatable. This is one way to do that. There are others. Color and Material R&D Being one of my favorite stages of the 3D workflow, this stage includes testing the garment and/or wearable in different lighting setups to ensure it reaches satisfactory results. A glimpse into the future of fashion. 🚀 My inner passion besides tasteful fashion: innovative technology. Now I've had the great pleasure of experiencing something that makes it easy to combine these two: the Apple Vision Pro. The era of spatial computing has begun and has once again shown me how technology is revolutionizing our perception and ways of interaction. My current workflow: when I arrive at the office, I put on my glasses, open my laptop, have a huge virtual screen right in front of me and can set up my programs in the entire room. It's a blatantly futuristic feeling. 🤯 Intuitive control of the user interface at a glance and an infinite work surface open up completely new possibilities – also for apparel. My first four suggestions for the future of the fashion world: 1. VIRTUAL TRY-ON: Imagine if you could try on every outfit in AR before you buy it! 2. SMART FASHION: Use AI to get customised fashion suggestions. Your perfect outfit, tailored directly to you.  3. VIRTUAL SHOWROOMS: Immerse yourself in virtual showrooms and discover every collection down to the last detail. 4. WEARABLE TECH: Why not merge fashion and technology? Think of smart clothing that keeps up with your lifestyle. 🔥 I'm looking forward to the productivity boost that the new innovations and AI will bring in the near future.
