I am humbled and honoured to be moderating this panel of experts on rare disease research and innovation alongside our co-host the Honourable Senator Marie-Françoise Mégie next Tuesday. Details on how to register are below. 1 in 12 Canadians will be affected by a rare disease, but each disease affects only a small number of individuals, which can lead to a lot of challenges for patients and their caregivers. We are bringing together leading researchers, health innovation stakeholders, and policy makers to shine a spotlight on the impact sustained research and innovation can have on the countless Canadians who are directly and indirectly affected by rare diseases.
