PhD in Information Technology (Systems and control)| Decentralized Optimization | Energy Systems | Uncertainty | Scenario Approach
Alongside other interesting workshops at #CDC2024, I’d like to draw special attention to the one on "The Scenario Approach for Decision and Control”. This workshop offers a step-by-step introduction to the scenario approach, extending it to non-convex and multi-agent problems. It’s a great fit for PhD students and young researchers interested in data-driven optimization under uncertainty. With practical examples from energy systems and medical applications, the workshop provides a balanced mix of theory and real-world problem-solving. Registration is open until October 21. Don’t miss your chance to join! 🔗 More details here: https://lnkd.in/eEYgHEsN #Optimization #ControlSystems #DataDriven #Workshops #IEEE #ScenarioApproach #NonConvexOptimization

Our paper on 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐃𝐢𝐠𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐓𝐰𝐢𝐧𝐬: 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐬, 𝐒𝐮𝐜𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐅𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐬, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐅𝐮𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝐃𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬, co-authored with Guodong Shao, Cláudio Gomes, Dawn Tilbury, and Bassam Zarkout, has been accepted for this year's International Symposium On Leveraging Applications of Formal Methods, Verification and Validation (ISoLA). In this paper, we primarily report on our panel discussion at the 2023 Annual Simulation Conference (ANNSIM), and integrate four complementary viewpoints of digital twin interoperability to anticipate pathways to higher (L4+) levels of digital twin interoperability. ➡ 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐜 perspective: digital twins with multiplicities and why do aggregated digital twins matter? ➡ 𝐓𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 perspective: how does co-simulation support concerns distributed over multiple digital twins? ➡ 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐢𝐳𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 perspective: the role of standards in interoperability. ➡ 𝐎𝐫𝐠𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐳𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 perspective: how do organizations deal with advanced digital twinning scenarios, specifically in the light of various data challenges? I am happy to share the new paper "Learning from the COVID-19 Pandemic to Improve Critical Infrastructure Resilience using Temporal Fusion Transformers" accepted the Resilience in Critical Infrastructures and Systems (RCIS) workshop. Congratulations for yet another achievement! 🖖 This research was led by my colleague Jakob Jenko, following other works we have been developped at XLAB, for the projects The Sunrise Project and @TANGO project. It will be presented by my colleague and coauthor Daniel Vladusic in the fall at the #FedCSIS2024, that in this edition happens in Beograd. In this work we show that the #TFT model, when applied to load demand prediction, outperforms current state-of-the-art approaches. The results verify the hypothesis proposed in the context of COVID-19 pandemic data, demonstrating that the model accuracy and performance can be improved during large-scale events.

Thanks to Inside Industry Association and Paolo Azzoni for featuring my article on Artificial Intelligence in Semiconductor Manufacturing. AI can have a huge impact in manufacturing, and semiconductor manufacturing is certainly my favorite sector. It involves a vast amount of data and potential impact, but also considerable complexity. Check out the article at the following link with some references to our work in anomaly detection with Statwolf and the Chips JU project AIMS5.0 #anomalydetection #artificialintelliegence #predictivemaintenance #semiconductormanufacturing #sustainabilty
