How to create communities where people thrive? We all have a deep sense of belonging, and yet it often feels for people that they have to change themselves in someway to fit in. In today's podcast episode, I talk to ★Mirjam van Ruth and Judith Peters about: * How we can create communities where people can thrive. * How to design those communities. * And what difference that makes. We touch on themes of: * how belonging doesn't mean having to change yourself to fit in * learning to thrive in women-only groups, to the point of now running women's circles * what it truly means to be seen * how we can stay out of drama while being fully present with everything that we are (including our triggers) * the role curiosity plays * and some of the design principles that make all this possible, because none of it is accidental! We are using Invoke Your Client's Magic, the Soul-based Coach Certification program as an example, so everything that we share comes from the experience of running this program and community for the last 7 years. We would love to hear your thoughts and experiences with communities where you feel you can thrive.

• Most meetings need to be 5-15 minutes OR 90+ minutes. • Not everyone needs to be at every meeting. • Focus is not the ability to do boring stuff quickly. Focus is being able to do challenging work [without interruption] that is fascinating and leads to differentiated outcomes and expertise. I'm paraphrasing, but these ideas stood out from Matt Gjertsen's "Making Better" Podcast episode 68 with Curt Steinhorst. They spend a good amount of time talking about focus and if you are like me (easily distracted) it is worth a listen IMO. Check it out! https://lnkd.in/gwunM7Ci

If you haven't listened to any of Cassandra Goodman's podcasts before and you are interested in how we show up true to ourselves at work and why this can be so tough, I highly recommend her podcasts. I had the privilege of having a chat with her recently, about how this intersects with what I am passionate about - humanising our workplaces. Unsurprisingly we found we had a lot of questions in common. Why do you think it can be tough to show up true to ourselves at work? One pattern I am noticing lately in my work is power imbalances between leaders and leader blindspots and then when these two things come together how it can really get in the way of enabling conditions for showing up true. Keen to hear what you are seeing

"Band-aids, quick fixes and grand gestures might look like we're doing the work we need to create and maintain healthy cultures, but those all seem hollow if we're not taking the steps that matter. Employees aren't dumb. They know when leaders are checking boxes rather than investing in the organization's culture." Listen now to this week's mini-episode of Relationships at Work where I highlight a problem many company's may not know is growing and festering: Cultural Debt. What is it? Why is it so easy to invest in it? And how can we avoid doing so? Listen wherever you get podcasts. Apple: https://lnkd.in/d-jbSgQS Spotify: https://lnkd.in/dPKXBXdK Youtube: https://lnkd.in/dVsv9vP8
